-BF2's C4 - nothing like slapping c4 to literally anything that moved drive/fly/push it over a ledge at someone then detonate. :D
-HL2's Gravity Gun
-Portal Gun
-RTCW's Panzerfaust - extremely powerful and when paired with a good player and RTCW's timed spawns, it created for some ridiculously awesome multi-kills.

If I remember correctly, FEAR had a gun similar to a modern stake gun, with which I pinned some dudes to walls.

Dual Ingrams in Max Payne.

Also the rocket launcher in Halo.

Generally like any revolvers too, but shotguns are almost always underpowered, especially at range. I can't recall a game that treats shotgun range realistically.

This reminds me- Metal Gear's C4. Nothing like slapping C4 on an enemy's back and detonating when he goes for a leak.
Haha awesome.

I loved putting C4's on helicopters, then flying around looking for other choppers. We wouldn't necessarily fly into them - that was too easy. We'd get as close as possible next to them, to give them a 'wtf?' moment before blowing everyone including ourselves up. Dropping a c4'd blackhawk onto a tank and detonating while parachuting down was awesome too. Ahhh... I wish BF2 worked in windows 7. :/

Because that would generally make the shotgun much more powerful, effectively making it an endgame weapon.

Can you imagine, a shotgun with accurate range/spread, and ones that could use slugs/other specialty ammunition?

I understand why shotguns work how they do in video games but for single player games it would be nice if some shotguns behaved realistically. Or at least semi-realistically and weren't glorified melee weapons. For multiplayer I completely agree.

That is pretty much the best anti tank weapon, its too bad that alot of players in the battlefield games don't like when people think outside of the box. It's almost like some of them want a fast twitch game that doesn't involve any problem solving skills.

Dual WSTE shotguns in Marathon 2: Durandal. BOOM chikachika BOOM chikachika every second.

tbh I don't have much experience with real shotguns, but the pump action in Mafia has respectable range, although it's only a safe insta-kill within about 30 feet.

Speaking of Mafia, the S&W Magnum is a glorious revolver. I love how the recoil is strong enough that when you shoot someone in the head, the crosshair immediately jerks up and by the the time it lowers, you don't even get to see any falling/death animation which is present with other weapons. They're just dead.

I got a revolver in borderlands (purple no less) that is 7x350 damage, 200% crit, 4x fire, 89% accuracy, .8 fire rate. That thing is a beast of a weapon, being a hunter I have a 40% chance for a double shot and I ignore shields, Im a god. Also have bloodwing on an 1s cd and 35% health leach, I literally cannot be killed in pvp unless Im against a similar hunter.

I remember the weapons from Turok on N64 blowing my mind. My favorites were the Alien Gun and Chronoscepter. None of Turok's weapons really became genre mainstays, but they were all fun and unique.
