Best Price EVER on this speaker classic!

OMFG! these are THE ones to get in that price bracket... words cant describe how awesome this is. actually i might get a pair at that price...

Hmmm... Been looking at some reviews, and this looks like a damn good buy. I keep reading the line "we would recommend them at $300, but at $250 they're a steal". At $169... 'k, gonna get me some speakers. ^_^

Except that he is reffering to newegg...

Stop getting over giddy people.

A good deal, is a good deal, regardless of who it comes from. I build computers, yet if i point you to a case that I happen to use when I'm building systems is that DUMmmm Du mmm Dummmm, evil? Chillllll out.

What? Unless he owns Newegg too he isn't spamming the board he is just giving us a deal that he himself doesn't seem willing to match.

You're an idiot. He specifically posted the deal as being on Newegg's site and made no mention that he has them on his own. Don't you have anything better to do?

I'm guessing that he is selling his stock through newegg. I might be wrong, but seeing as how it's his first post, I'm willing to bet that I'm not wrong.

Exactly what i thought as well. Most people who post here, post a deal, its a casual "hey guys, this is here at this price"

This almost looks like a commercial

Yup.

No way that this guy is steering us to someplace that will take sales away from himself.

Still might be a good deal, but this should definitely be prefaced with an explanation of the poster's ties with the deal.

For an at least equally good deal, there are several quality bookshelf speakers (magnetically shielded) that can be found in the $100 pricerange. For example, ecost was selling some Wharfedale speakers at this price a short while ago (although apparently not now) that were reviewed, I think in Sound & Vision, as being some of the best speakers at under $1,000. You can also find Infinity, Acoustic Research, JBL, NHT, etc., speakers near this pricepoint, some of which have received favorable coverage in the high-end audiophile press (Stereophile, The Absolute Sound, etc.). Combine this with a $90 stereo receiver, or a $130 surround receiver, and you have a really kick-ass system -- provided you have the desk-space.

theaudioinsider.com is listed on the swansspeaker.com website as the sole internet distributor for Swans multimedia speakers. This guy is obviously either selling them directly to Newegg, or works for Swans himself -- and then lies about "Don't know how New Egg does it so get em while you can..."

Yeah, right. This thread should be locked. 🙁

hmm
Jon Lane Partner, The Audio Insider.com

Swans are distributed in the U.S. by The Audio Insider, and sourced from the mammoth HiViResearch in China.

seems like there is a connection between the two

Regardless whether this guy was doing advertising or not, this is VERY nice speaker at good price. Go read some reviews by audio magazines. Swan (not sure which model) won a big award at CES (2003?).

Too bad I already own NHT Superzero's, otherwise I'd jump on these.

seriously, people tauting their klipsh's to be the best thing for PCs better think twice. these DESTROY kilpsch 2.1 for music 🙂

What a moron... I can't believe he added his website in his sig also. good work to those of you that did research.

Sheesh, who gives a shyt whether or not he's providing newegg with these Swans. Either way, he's providing them at a lower-than-average price. I think the people around here usually call that a "Hot Deal." Please correct me if I'm wrong.

A hot deal is a hot deal is a hot deal... sheesh

You're right. Many geeks here dont just look for hot deals, they like to show off their little discoveries even if they have nothing to do with the products.

I'm against self promotion but these are damn good speakes at a damn good price. The boxes containing these speakers are way beyond any cheap plastic speakers most computer people are used to. This is a hot deal regardless of the origin. JMOFWIW. I was going to buy these speakers at $199 not too long ago from AV123.com.

These are wonderful speakers, I owned a pair for several months before I upgraded. For $169 they are a STEAL they are very competitive with low cost bookshelf speakers from Polk, Paradigm, Energy, etc. They work well for PC use or use in the bedroom or living room even!
