Statistically, Wilt would be the best IMHO (but his contemporaries were not as competitive as Jordan's)

Here are some amazing Wilt stats:
50.4 SEASON AVERAGE for Points per game
44.0 SEASON AVERAGE for Points per game
40.x SEASON AVERAGE for Points per game
17.x SEASON AVERAGE for assists per game (can't remember this one for sure)

You can't really compare because after the late 70's they stopped calling hand checking, travelling, carrying. Personally I like Dr. J in the ABA with the big afro man that guy could fly through the air. In the 1976 ABA all-Star game, first slam dunk contest, he looked like he was floating.
