I don't understand. Only medics could revive in BF1 but now anyone can revive, albeit much slower. Medics in BFV are still very fast, couple of seconds at most.

Yea they could have kept the way the revive was done in bf1. Last time I played the alpha the animations still seemed a bit slow to me. I don't think the new animations really add anything.

First Impressions;

Respawns and vehicle exits still take forever in the beta, but the healing animations seem to be quite a bit faster this go around.

The Shock Troops Chapter event map is better than the snowy one from the alphas.

This is going to be another epic game from the BF series. It's got that sense of gameplay and scope you want from a shooter. I like that it's just that bit more modern than BF1, which I loved after I thought I'd hate it.

Respawns take awhile sometimes, but maybe they are trying to pace the game a bit differently, we shall see. Gonna have to get used to the revive animation from the Medic Class, my main class. Noticed a few bugs in the game that have to be ironed out - can't alt-TAB back into the game after minimizing it. Medic class says to throw an Ammo pouch vs medic kit to friendlies, I couldn't get out of the prone position once, etc...

Medic revives are now pretty much the same as BF1, but the squad revives are slower and more dangerous so hardly anyone does it.

Overall it's definitely a slower paced game which I think you may like, because I'm not too keen about it. lol

I dont remember in the alphas, but you had to be down in order for someone to revive you in battlefield V. When you get killed you sit there waving your hand in the air on the ground alerting your squadmates to heal you.

The slower revive and respawn is so that people can't quickly spawn kill and they also want people to play more strategically which I welcome. I just don't like the animations they added to it. I should have said I don't mind the longer respawn but not a fan of the slower revive. I think someone mentioned the medic revive is the same as bf 1 which is fine if that's a medic healing you vs a squad member. I just really wish they had not put those animations in..which explains why most squadmates won't go to revive you.

Okies. Makes sense. This game just kinda feels a bit more realistic than BF1. A little more gritty. Rotterdam just feels a bit more real than Amiens for example.

I want to see all the maps, all the guns, and all the scopes and all the game modes for sure.

I turned off film grain in teh video settings and its definitely nicer IMO

Personally I cant stand it, but the old school BF fans should love it though.

Been playing since the Alpha and Early Access Beta, mixed bag. It's a mix of BF1, PubG(personal customization and battle royale) and Fortnite(build fortifications) all good and bad. I like that movement is much faster than BF1. Game is beautiful. Still lots of bugs so it gets frustrating trying to drop health/ammo and not being able to. Nobody wants to revive which makes the longer death time more painful. Like the two maps. Flying is much easier. Lots of not filled servers in early access beta so now that it's open, it should be more fun.

I can't stand it either.

I prefer Battlefield 1 or Battlefield 4!

I find Battlefield 4 to have superior infantry vs infantry play, but compared to BF2, BF4 ground vehicles are too durable, both in infantry against tanks and tanks vs tanks. Air vehicles are a mixed bag; it can be as bad as the air to ground was in BF2, but it takes a little more skill overall than it did in BF2. On the other hand, superficially, with stingers, it feels like infantry can do more against air than they could in BF2 where there were only a few suicide chairs per map, but it's actually an illusion because ECM/flares/whatever are so powerful and have a fast re-use timer that you don't really have an impact. Only if multiple people overwhelm their air with them, and unfortunately that doesn't happen that much. I didn't download the beta yet so I'm just saying what BF4 feels like -

Played a couple rounds of the beta. Not sure what's going on with the medic class but I couldn't switch guns, spawn with no healing pouches even though I'm a medic.

I don't like that they changed all medic weapons to automatics. I do like that they added an option to skip waiting for a revive. The medic revives are fine and quick like before. Hit detection seemed a but off too. Will have to try it again later.

I have the same blah feeling too. Not sure if I was experiencing bugs during my playthrough but I did run out of ammo a lot. I like the Rotterdam level, very spacious and reminds me of one of the bf1 levels too. It's actually too similar. Yet having to run around for ammo gets annoying when you have a full server and snipers posted everywhere.

I hope the voice acting is just a place holder, the German soldier voice over in grand operations at the start and end of each round is dreadful. Sounds like an American putting on the cringiest accent possible.

add to that slower healing. faster TTK. no permanent minimap on the screen anymore. less spotting. sights are more realistic than the sick red dot sights I am used to.

I'm not finding campfests. But it is a more hardcore game than BF1. Think of BF1 as a bit more arcade-like and this more serious and gritty. And it looks that way too. It's a bit of an adjustment but it is pretty intense so I am definitely looking forward to other game modes like TDM and rush. I have no choice - it's either the crazy small map insanity that is COD or some hardcore indie wwII or nam shooter that is a bit too hardcore. BFV could sit at a nice medium between hardcore and arcadey - and that may be its downfall as well. Not hardcore enough for the grunts, too serious for your casual FPS gamer.

I can't play as medic anymore. My key bindings for the medical pouch are not working. I press 3 and it shows the little selection on the lower right going to the medic pouch but then it goes back to my main weapon automatically. It shows 0 medical pouches as a medic. Not sure what's going on but this is the second or third day I've tried to play as medic and I can't. It seems none of my bindings for throwing ammo or medical pouch are working.

Aiming seems really weird too. Maybe I just need to dial everything in and get used to playing this type of game again. I guess its just that I suck. Fired up BF4 shooting range and everything seemed fine, and then I got into an actual game...

Something else must have happened when I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it. I think you can only toss a pouch if someone is hurt and in your line of sight. To heal yourself you now have to hold 5.

So weird. I was used to throwing packs down and picking them up to heal myself. I also had a lot issues with the graphical settings. It was capped at 60fps and I could not turn off vsync. I had to do custom settings, set everything to ultra, turn off vsync and then go back to set it to auto max fidelity.

What is the damn key to use a medkit? At one point the screen kept flashing the S key to heal but that just walks you backwards. Overall, I think I prefer BF1. The ammo limit is just annoying, especially on the Norway map. I had some fun as an engineer running around on Rotterdam map at least and tossing out ammo packs. I'm not a fan of having to back out completely from a server to set up your armory and switch weapons (unless I'm missing something) or of the fact that I have to level up to switch weapons. All British assault soliders start with a stg44 and a P38 apparently.
