the difference is ... they get charged for a map pack of remakes
 Run and tell that, Homeboy!
pontifex, could you just promise us you won't buy any more battlefield games? i can't take any more of this nonsense.
but you guys are buying a whole "new" game so you are getting shorted by them remaking maps...
i wish i could tell what it was because the game plays exactly like BF2
They better fix Frostbite's net code for Battlefield 3. If it's anything like BFBC2's, I don't know if I'd have any interest in the game at all.
Kill trading demonstrates the biggest issues, IMO. BFBC2 is the first online game I've ever played where the person you kill often kills you at the same time, when both of you are using bullets. The odds of this happening should technically be in the millions, but it happens constantly, and at any range. This just plays into a bigger issue however, as it's blatantly demonstrating the games wacky lag compensation, regardless if either player is lagging. In the bigger picture, I'd say it's the same thing that makes the hit detection so weird.I've noticed stuff jumping around a little bit, but certainly not to the point where I wouldn't play. What problems are there?
Yeah, no problem when it happens with rockets, that should happen. On the other hand, it should basically never happen with bullets.LOL, I trade kills with people in BF2 when we shoot each other with AT rockets at short to short-medium range all the time...I'm not complaining though, gotta love putting a rocket in someone's chest...
Ahhh ok, yeah I know what you mean. I've also occasionally get kills as someone was running around a corner - looks like they made it and then they die.Kill trading demonstrates the biggest issues, IMO. I've played other online games that have lag and skipping issues, and I can deal with that. The funkyness in BFBC2 is just endlessly frustrating to me however.
Well, it's not any kind of official term, just had nothing else to call it. I don't see how what should be a near physical impossibility, could be considered luck however. If the net code worked properly, that would be a 1 in 10,000,000 freak occurrence. Yet I don't think I've ever completed a round where it hasn't happened multiple times.Hmm didnt know there was a term for that, "kill trading" happens to me quite a lot, i just put it down to luck. All the servers i play on have <50 ping as well.

I'm less concerned about kill trading than I am about explosive devices like RPG's and nades failing to explode when you die after you throw them. It's like they magically disappear or something.allthe bullets travel a little slow as well which makes it more possible. but I have it happen alot, you both come around a corner and bam headshots yours dead.
its not like this doesnt happen in other games.

I've never had it happen in other games. Either way, just because a lot of games have an entirely unacceptable net code, doesn't mean we should allow more games to jump on the bandwagon.allthe bullets travel a little slow as well which makes it more possible. but I have it happen alot, you both come around a corner and bam headshots yours dead.

Just shows how much things have changed I suppose. If something like this was happening in Quake or the Classic UT's, it would be called out as a massive bug and would be fixed instantly.
It's basically impossible in a properly working net code. Why is that hard to understand?I have 'kill-trades' in blops all the time
I dont see why you find it unnaceptable that two guys can kill each other with guns
lol the "kill-trade" is a nice way to put it. It's funny and random enough that I don't fret about it.
I do wish they would add more blood/gore like FEAR. What is the reason they hold back on this? Forget the revive nonsense! This is an adult game anyway and they should make it much more realistic in terms of blood/gore. For instance, a nade goes off, there should be entrails, severed bodies, and limbs all over with non-disappearing blood. Sniper headshot? A headless body in a pool of blood... what kind of garbage is revival after taking a Barrett .50 cal sniper round to the head?
One of the coolest things about BF BC2 is the sound effects especially when a nade goes off nearby.. the ringing and fade-in/fade-out sound effect is so awesome. Similarly, they should have copious amounts of red mist splash everywhere; environment, other players etc. and make it jaw-dropping.
FEAR was an incredible bloodbath that was brutal and just insanely fun. I just hated it's "dark" theme which made sense for that game. I want the same level of gore in an "open" and well-lit game like BF BC2 and beyond.
What do you guys feel about the blood/gore levels of BF? Too weak or good enough?
