They are not all the same. I went in to a =WeeD= server (there were a bunch of them) just now, went to the enemy uncap, knifed two guys and left. There was a two star general, and several Colonels camping there. Pfft...

Sort of.
When you go to the server, all the people are just sitting there. Some in tanks, some in choppers (on the ground). They are like zombies. It actually is creepy, because you never know if they are watching you or not...
Say you wanted the Distinguished Service Award Medal. You need 100h of command time, but you suck as a commander. Go to this server, elect yourself commander, then go take a nap.
It's annoying when you don't notice "TIME" in the server title. The only server last week playing the Operation Smoke Screen map from the Euro Forces booster pack turned out to be a Time server.

Seriously, you guys didn't hear of daemon-tools and mini images?
I don't think I ever touched the game disc again after the first month -- just too much a hassle.

It seems like AA has gotten worse. It seems to not work that far at all. Everything has to be fairly close now for AA to lock on which sucks.
Love this patch. If the 2gb download only had the no CD fix I still would love it 
Btw, not sure if anyone else had this problem but my first download that I tried to install never worked. The disk drive would crazy for a minute then die, no dialog appeared. Tried it a few more times and same problem. So I downloaded from another site and the file was the exact same size as the first but this one installed no problem.
Anyway, love it so far.

Operation Blue Pearl is a really nice urban combat map. I honestly would say it's my new favorite map. It's such a huge change from my last favorite, which was Wake Island.
My in game mouse cursor is inverted lol This is especially funny because I usually invert my mouse look but this is the first time that's it's inverted both.

On my MX518 and G5, I set my side buttons to be page up and page down so I can say "Affirmative" or "Negative" in game. I probably should set one of them to be reload but I'm too lazy to do it.
It's a fun map, but it's like Wake in that if you have a slightly poorer team on the American side, or they just have bad luck, they never get ashore. Which is realistic, I guess, but boring
.I've reinstalled this game due to the 1.50 patch.. how do I update PB? I downloaded pbsetup and it seems to have updated whatever it needed to with BF2/PB.
Any ideas why I'm getting an error message about Punkbuster, as soon as I join a server? Something about PnkBstrA.exe ?

What version of Windows are you running? I'm guessing Vista or Win 7.
What exact error message are you getting?
I'm running Windows 7 64-bit and have gotten BF2 to work without any problems. Check this link for the steps that you need to follow to update PB :

Odd thing is it doesn't seem to affect the AIX 2.0 mod. the textures are fine there.
Everything else seems to work fine.
I have deleted the cache and reinstalled the patch to no effect.
<EDIT> in case anyone else has the issue. it is related to Anti-aliasing.
Not really sure what fixed it, however I think it was- tuning it off in the game-restarting the game and turning it on-restarting the game and then setting it to 8x.
