It's 3am, and I'm very tired, but let me say that Episode III was as good as I had hoped, and that certainly it was superior to Episodes I and II. It is a very full movie that doesn't really have any slow spots, and the acting is improved over the last film. It does a really good job of filling in the backstory of the original trilogy, and actually serves to make those three films even more cohesive. After two disappointments, Lucas finally delivered in full.

I just got back, and let me say one thing...

One odd thing is that towards the end of the movie it seemed like the A/C was turned off, and it was really hot in the theatre by the end. Saw a friend afterward who saw it on a screen in the opposite end of the theatre, and she said the same thing happened there. We concluded that Lucas, no longer content to merely control sight and sound, now leaves directions for the theatres' climate control, so that the room got really hot during the scenes on the lava planet. Paranoid and silly? Of course.

Let's just hope he never develops Wookie Smellovision.🙂

I'll be honest, I really didn't think it was that special. Whatever, I did have a good time hanging out with friends though.
 
Liked the second half of the movie WAY better than the first, which was a bit on the corny side. On the whole, though, :thumbsup:

I really found myself getting involved emotionally as Anakin descended.... it drew me in, even though I totally didn't expect it to.

Some forehead slaps/dislikes:

[*]Okay.. no need for the Tarzan call damnit. That's just ridiculous.
[*]No wind in space. When will filmakers get this?
[*]Slightly annoyed by the reason given for Padme's death
[*]Midichlorians -- Whince!
[*]Too much corny R2 at the beginning. More balanced and it wouldn't have annoyed me.
[*]Too many sweeping cityscapes -- stop showing off!
[*]Droids are even bigger idiots than they were in previous episodes. Time to upgrade to Backbone 2.0!
[*]More Vader reconstruction please!
[*]Duck for cover! Hands flying off everywhere!
[*]Did we REALLY need an oversized multicolored lizard-steed? Really? I mean Really?
[*]Bail Organa's ship toward the end: Jesus Christ my eyes! Bright light! Bright Light!
[*] I don't know why, but near the end when Vader comes off the platform all emotional about Padme, I was reminded of Dark Helmet in Spaceballs.
[*]The obligatory fat-guy-in-a-C3PO suit at our theater. Not Lucas's fault per se, but still... it's painful to watch.

Not that I liked it, but that was one part (amongst several) where I thought that more of the scene was shot and edited out. I'll be curious to see when the DVD comes out.

It was actually a disturbing film in some ways--it's too intense for younger children for sure, and if there were scenes of extended violence (esp. towards the "younglings") I wouldn't imagine that it'd keep a PG-13 rating at all. A "R" rated Star Wars would have been a huge departure (as well as box office suicide).
 
Just got back, and I agree its the best of the prequel trilogy.

I just wished I wasn't so spoiled when I went to the theater. I basically knew 99% of everything that happened.

See, here's the thing, some parents are retarded and would bring their kids to watch porno. Ok, that was an exaggeration. However, I'm sick and tire of parents who bring grade school children to watch R rated movies w/ very very violent scenes and very graphic nude/sex scenes. Went to see Unleashed over the weekend, and about half of the adults brought young children w/ them. I was like, WTF are you people thinking?

 
i didn't see any trailers or read anything about the movie....all i can think is, this must be the way people felt when they walked out of 'empire' know vader was luke's father.... all i can do is sit here and stare at the screen, i can't remember being this fvcked with in a "long, long time"
