One amusing thing--as the movie started and the "A long time ago..." tag appeared on the screen, somebody from the back of the theatre yelled out "Wait! I've seen this movie!!!!"

LOL -- That's awesome. A guy in ours shouted WAR! right before it showed the line.

LOL, fine. I read the Episode III comic, it's totally wicked. Gonna watch early 9AM showing tomorrow.

LOL, I'm gonna yell "Bring it on biotch!"

What are you talking about, R2 is the best part...now there's the comic relief that JarJar so painfully failed to do.

They could have done a better job showing Anakin descend to the dark side, one minute he's interested, the next he's doing the right thing, then he just gives in and somehow doesn't realize it.

Then his defeat, kinda corny with the upper ground thing, and then the fact that Obi-Wan must have lied - since when do you let someone you love die a most horribly painful death? Finsih the bastard off, have mercy, heck a good jedi would have done so for someone they hated...they definately could have done a better job there, like showing Anakin "die" in Obi's arms or something, and be revived by Palpatine.

Oh well, the final Vader sequences were great and the movie really tied things up exceptionally well.

But from Obi-Wans point of view Anakin was dead and only Vader remained. Thats why he just walked off. He had to destroy the Sith.

My one problem with the movie was one of the Vader parts. It just didn't feel right and Vader just didn't look right. It was probably because Hayden was in the suit and not Prowse. I know James Earl Jones did the Vader lines, but some of them to me didn't sound like Jones' Vader at all.

Dialogue still sucked. I was uncomfortable any time anyone talked. Padme + Anikin (sp?) = HIRE A F*CKING SCREEN WRITER GEORGE LUCAS! I mean really, there was so much there that could have been acted rather than said. And when Obi-wan throws down that blaster and says "So uncivilized!" like a prick with something shoved up his posterior... that sucked. A simple look could have imparted so much more disdain than him barely delivering the line.

Action = much better and more of it.
Dialogue = still sucks. A lot.

My opinion = the best of the prequels, but not a great movie.

I did wait in line for four hours to see it though...

So lets vote for some of the craziest awesome action sequences (kind of spoilerish)

I'd vote for either the scene where General Grevious starts charging with the 4 lightsabers, or the opening space battle.

It was pretty good, but I wanted more large fight scenes, like the fight with the wookies. Plus I wish they would have gone more into the jedis vs. Darth Sidious, I thought he killed those other 3 too easily.

I would give it a B+, its way way better than the first one and is better than the second.

All of the fight scenes were amazing. Yoda killed it yet again. Palpatine was most impressive. Anakin and Obi-Wan. Grevious too. And let's not forget Dooku and Wendu...all of it was amazing!!!

thats the whole point tho... he's THE DARK LORD OF THE SITH. The others were jedi masters, but as of this point in the film... only three people ever fought a sith lord... Anakin, Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan.... and they fought an apprentice.....
Noone knew what a sith master was like...

I think they showed it perfectly... Mace and Anakin were the only ones left who stood a chance....

Everybody in our theater just started cheering and hollaring when the 20th Century Fox logo came up. Then by the time the intro started to scroll they were all like "shhhh, shut up shut up, shhhh!"

fixed....sorry couldn't resist

started the goddamn movie 25 minutes late!

and will he ever stop whining? i think whining is a skywalker genetic trait
"but i was going into tachi station to pick up some power converters"

Never thought I'd see Palpatine move like that.

I wish it wasn't trying to be so humorous in the first few minutes of the thing. Dialogue sucked. Good movie all in all.

There was a lot of cheering when the film started, but hardly any at the end compared to the start.

Also it was the first Star Wars midnight show I went to where almost everyone left when the credits started. They also cut the movie off when the credits were rolling, which got some boos from the few people left in the theater.

Employees probably wanted to go home and sleep 🙂.

A lot of times the dialogue got pretty cheesy... but damn I still enjoyed the hell out of that movie.

Oh, but the dialogue NEVER got quite as cheesy as the Lucas Films logo... man that thing is gawdy.
