So officially working from home now, this is neat... except I wish I had a normal phone. Softphone is kinda meh. It does not ring the same, it's just a single short tone. So I can't leave the computer at all or I'll miss calls. Also need to wear the headset to hear, but I ordered parts from Digikey to make a switcher, so I'll make it go to speakers then hit a button to pickup head set.
what no bt headset?
I am assuming your computer has BT? then you just need a bt receiver moduleJust wired. Had to use what was available to be quickly shipped. I could look at getting a blutooth one out of pocket if I wanted to. Not sure how that works with a computer though, most of them are for cell phones. Need some kind of BT receiver that plugs into the PC's audio.
I don't think it does, how would that work, just be built into the motherboard?
Can't be ordering anything from Ebay or Amazon these days though. Pandemic will be over by the time it arrives lol.
Really what I want to see if I can figure out is how I can get a proper phone ringer. I can probably make a device that listens for the tone then just continues to output another tone until I hit a button. Will see how long all of this lasts for to see if it's worth doing though. It would just be nice if I can get up and do stuff around the house like laundry.![]()
When I was a kid my dad got me a train set. It was okay but since it was just a simple oval of track it got boring pretty quick. Little did I know it was based on a real railway.
