Well I should eat and get to work.

Also getting lot of cpu high temp alarms on my file server, but that might be normal because of a job that's running, normally not up at this time to monitor that.

Why would file io increase cpu temp so much?

Piss poor resource management causes max CPU usage for simple operations.
CPU's are made of transistors. The more times you switch between a 1 and a 0 the more a transistor heats up. When CPU's arent doing any work they normally just run a string of zeros.

The "high temp" was like 61C, so nothing crazy. I can trigger every single core of a server into minor alarm if I run the cpu to 100%. I set the minor alarm threshold to basically a touch above idle temp. If it sustains for long then it triggers. Basically an early warning. Still open to tweaking though, I don't really monitor the history that much tbh and I probably should raise the threshold a bit.

Took a small break from shed to go pickup something to eat and charge camera battery (time lapse) as I had nothing in the fridge that I can do fast. Of course I had to pick the busiest time of the day to go out lol. I always forget how bad end of school is. It's actually worse than 5 when it's end of work. At least it's not dark though, I hate night driving, so that's why I went now.

Back to work I go.

Well installing trusses took longer than I expected, but that's done now. It's really tricky to get them straight, as there's no easy way to measure or use a frame square or the right triangle rule or anything like that because of the shape. So I went with "good enough" approach. Was screwing in some spacers then the spacers more or less ensured it was straight against the next one. Problem is my mitre saw sucks, you put it on 90, and it's not QUITE 90. I only realized how off it was half way through

I had a flood light that was actually producing a decent amount of light to work in so that helped finish things up in the dark. I'm still on schedule for the projected 2020 completion date.

I could go for a nice cold pepsi right now, but I keep forgetting to buy some, and I'm trying to cut back anyway. I do have wine... but don't want to open a new bottle as I'd have to finish it tonight since tomorrow is my last day off then I work the next day. Maybe I'll cave and open it anyway, water for now. :p

Coke, not Pepsi. Pepsi tastes flat within a couple minutes of pouring from a fountain or opening a can! That'd be the easiest drink to cut.
