Why would file io increase cpu temp so much?
Piss poor resource management causes max CPU usage for simple operations.
CPU's are made of transistors. The more times you switch between a 1 and a 0 the more a transistor heats up. When CPU's arent doing any work they normally just run a string of zeros.

I could go for a nice cold pepsi right now, but I keep forgetting to buy some, and I'm trying to cut back anyway. I do have wine... but don't want to open a new bottle as I'd have to finish it tonight since tomorrow is my last day off then I work the next day. Maybe I'll cave and open it anyway, water for now.![]()
Coke, not Pepsi. Pepsi tastes flat within a couple minutes of pouring from a fountain or opening a can!
