D: What exactly are you tying to drill through and what for?

Oh hey Locut0s. I actually had more to say to you last night in P&N, but I got caught by the maintenance shutdown.

Anyways, a 1" hole through a piece of 3/8" steel. The first one did the damage to the drill, at which point, we kept going. I told my father we should go to a shop we have access to, but he didn't want to do the 45 minutes each way drive to use unfamiliar equipment.

It takes 5-6 pads to cover an entire car with a buffer.

A smaller pad is filled up, used up, faster than a large pad.

A smaller pad covers less area at a time, but permits more maneuverability.

A smaller pad applies more pressure, which is good for polish, not beneficial for sealant or wax, and riskier for paint.

Sealing before winter makes sense.

Claying and polishing does not.

I suppose I could try to hand seal. It'll look a bit poor, but I'm heading into the winter. If it's washed and at all shiny, it'll look better than 99% of cars on the road, and more importantly, it'll be protected.

I'm really not keen on using the Turtle soap and wax crap, plus I lack the sponge and applicator and such.
