FFS Philly, yes, Maclin just got fucked up, but don't waste a time out.

And for the love of god, don't put Maclin back in. Make him sit. Yes, that sucks, but he's gotta sit out for a bit to make sure he's okay.

Shallow desk. LEDs are better :D

If your desk is that shallow perhaps you should think about a VESA wall mount.

LEDs are harsh on the eyes particularly at the entry level point. Extremely harsh, cold bluish light. Colors look absolutely crazy on those displays.

Oh I wish mine had LED backlight.

A suit is not well-suited for a job with any sort of physical activity.

I carry, empty, and cut up an average of half a dozen cardboard boxes full of supplies each day. I take out trash and recycling 90% of the time during the winter - and that's a job I insist on being given, rather than have the girls being sent out.
I go up on ladders to move things around, place boxes and supplies on high shelves, change lightbulbs, move furniture displayers, et cetera.

So no, a suit is not a good choice.

I have an LED display on my laptop. Fantastic battery life, and with adjustable brightness, it gives me everything I want from it, the color rendering is amazing.

I thought it was cool until I had one and it sucked. Bad. Asus notebook, great in every way EXCEPT that bloody LED backlit panel. Impossible to adjust color properly. That's just the way LCD display tech works.

It will be nice when we have 30" 4K OLED panels.

Use LED backlit next to a real display and the harsh reality kicks in. Not ALL LED backlights are bad mind you but if you get one that is blue, forget about adjusting it. Either throw it away or sell it and move on.

I havnt had a problem with my MacBook Pro's display and the current Dell IPS. Both have LEDs.

I guess as a photographer I have shitty eyes...

$1500 13.3" 1280x800 LED laptop generates almost no heat at all, is quite power efficient, has more brightness than I ever need/want, color rendering that is easily competitive with my primary display. The only thing I don't really know about is how it does for gaming, i.e. response time, ghosting, tearing, etc. Oh, and speaking of the primary display, the primary is a $500 U2410 24" 1920x1200. It creates a blazing amount of heat, if I turn the brightness down, the images are too dim to want, but at high brightness it hurts the eyes.

Did you try a second LED backlit panel? I absolutely love my M1330 display, it honestly is at least the equal of the far newer and equivalently more expensive 24" display.

You are paying for a "premium panel" and a better tint quality is chosen for the LEDs in the backlight. A $300 24" display OTOH will NOT have ideal color or won't be guaranteed. It's truly a lottery and if you get lucky good for you! Out of the 30 or so entry level Dell notebooks and monitors I've seen so far they all had a cold cast to them and caused immediate eyestrain to me.

Oh damn, Vick is going out.

I'm not liking that call on Abraham though. I didn't catch the head to head contact, but he clearly drew back his hitting force by far, and he held the QB's jersey to keep him from going down. IMO, that's a good time for the referee to pull him over, make sure he understands to keep the head away, and let it go at that. Carrot and stick concept.

My M1330 is an XPS, so it's premium, meaning I've never seen an entry-level LED panel.

On the other hand, my U2410 is a premium panel, but it has a green tint on everything that can be compensated for with setting tweaks, but it's never really quite right.

I do fully believe in purchasing high-price premium panels. I've used... three displays now on my primary computers, over a timespan of seven years.

I have a M1330 and the display is CCFL backlit. The color is good but at the pixel pitch is very challenging. I'd much rather have a 1650x1050 display at 13" or 1920x1200 at 15". (I'm nearsighted!)

A 17" 2560x1600 display would absolutely rock. I don't care if the laptop cost $25K I'd buy it! :awe:

I do so like the looks of the BMWs, and their handling is supposed to be astounding. Never got to test drive one though.

Well IMO the 24 inch IPS display that I have looks better than my roommates TN panel. My prints so far look just as I expected them to. My monitor are thin enough for my desk to be usable.

So far I'm satisfied and that all I really wanted... :D

LED was an option; I opted. I too am nearsighted, but I've learned to deal with it when it comes to computer screens, so I'd guess my vision isn't as bad as yours. And I do notably improve my gaming performance with glasses on.

IMO, IPS is barely any better than TN from the proper face, but if you go off-angle at all, the advantage quickly becomes huge.
