The logical result of taking a turn too hot, barring severe potholes, a curb in the way, a vehicle in the oncoming lane, whatever, is that the tires will break lateral traction, sideslip, speed will be shed, traction will be regained, voila. There may be under or over steer in the process, the sideslip might last a few feet not a few inches, or it could even end with the whole car either (understeer) going off the road, or (oversteer) spinning out.
