MB is like JD when it comes to AG equipment (Nothing Runs Like A Deere).
Seriously take a trip to Germany and cruise the Autobahn in an AMG at 220km/hr all day. Who wants to be bothered with shifting gears? Slushie is so 1970. ;) Of course I'm not driving so it does not matter either way.

Cars in the future won't even use pedals and a wheel. :D

Slushie, yes, conventional automatics. Let's go with DCT or DSG for performance vehicles instead of regular automatics. And no, Benz isn't that unfailingly reliable.

If I were to be cruising at 140 MPH, there's a long list of cars I'd take for it, and a Benz is not at the top.

If you want reliable get a honda beater and call it a day. ;)

Porsche if you want something more in sport territory and still be an everyday driver. Ferrari not so much for everyday driving. Those along with Lambos certainly get the stares if you're into that sort of thing.

All in all at the end of the day it's the same - you get there with four wheels and a f#sking seat! You are more likely to get cited for speeding in the exotics though. :D

Or, you can get an Infiniti, where you get performance comparable to a BMW, with reliability closer to a Nissan/Honda/Toyota, and for less money than the BMW at that.

If you need more performance than that, your best bet for reliability is probably going to end up being an American domestic, and isn't that a funny statement? Japan doesn't do much for high performance, European gives you reliability problems.

There's some high-end Lexuses, but, well, it's a Lexus.

Nissan has the 370Z, then a pretty big gap before the GT-R. Infiniti G37 is a 370Z.

Acura... um, nope.

The Evo X and WRX/STI are good, but if we're talking 220KPH cruise, that's not really their job.

From Europe, the high-end Porsches cost a freaking fortune, same for the Benzes. BMW is the cheapest of the three, until you look at maintenance figures, and then start crying.

So you want something with plenty of power and ability to cruise at high speed? Welcome to the American domestic market, where we still have cheap cars with big V8's and thoroughly proven platforms.

Well, if Ford's website hadn't been programmed by a bunch of mentally disabled monkeys, I'd check the 5.0 GT's price, but I think it's like $35k. Dollar for dollar, I don't think anything can touch that power level.

$55k will get you into a Corvette GS. For BMW, you'd be in a 335is. Sorry, 350 HP 3.0L twin turbo is going to lose to 430 HP V8. Benz... um, hell if I know. Fucking letter-name scheme.

If you like your halogen high beam, you can consider doing a low beam only HID retrofit, and keeping your high beam as halogen.

I would, in your circumstance, still go with bixenon, and try to preserve the halogen high beam as a daytime flash to pass, and as increased high beam light.

You'll need a 9006 wiring harness from TRS to replace your low beam with a projector, plus the butyl glue is advisable, you'll need a shroud (E46 or E46-R seem common on 8thC), a set of bulbs (85122+ is my preference, over the Mori's), a set of Morimoto 3Five ballasts, and the projector (Mini or FX-R).

On 8th Civic, run a search for FX-R. It's been done, it requires some more trimming.

If you aren't comfortable with that much trimming, and/or lack a Dremel to do the fine cutting, then Mini H1 is probably your only bet, and it will still beat factory halogen lighting.

Yeah I don't want to deal with trimming too much

bixenon? Would that mean both my dedicated high beam and my projector would kick on/ high beam from projector?

Bulb. I want the most yellow / white. No blue at all.
