There's something producing a very low rumble here... but I can't find it. I've searched the house, and opened windows to listen outside. Nothing.

My experience with that has usually been that it's a car idling nearby somewhere. If you open a window and see the car you won't actually hear it as the low frequency vibrations are too quiet to hear outside, you really only hear them in a quiet room.

I almost got killed on it a few months ago. (I hate anything west of atlanta) Saw a tornado pass a bit over a mile in front of me. Took a semi with it.

That shit was scary.
