I got a bottle of this for my 21st birthday. Fanciest beer I've ever seen. I plan on enjoying that out of my newly-bought beer mug tonight.

My friend swears that it's absolutely delicious, so I'm pretty excited to try it. 9% ABV though. :p

Now that I've got you all here, can I get some beer recommendations? I'm a big fan of lighter and wheat beers. Not a fan of super-hoppy beers, but if someone swears it's awesome I'll give it a try.

Try a La Fin Du Monde. Report back then. Until then if you like the wheat beer category, I recommend Mothership Wit by New Belgium, Hennepin by Ommegang, Great White by Lost Coast, Hoegaarden, Paulaner Hef, St. Feullien, Allagash White, and the aforementioned La Fin Du Monde. pliny the elder - super hoppy but well worth it
La Fin Du Monde - Tasty trippel, light in color but 9%
Dead Guy Ale - on the darker side, but too tasty not to mention

Perfect post. Whether or not you like La Fin Du Monde will be a good gauge as to where to go next. As long as we have a beer thread .. look what's hiding in my fridge!

SOAB!!!

I've only had the special edition, and I've heard it's inferior. I did have the St. B trippel a couple weeks back though. MMM.

Just head over to Monk's and try a few things there. Decent food, too, I always try to stop by when I'm back in the area.

Funny, I was actually thinking about going to Monk's at some point. I also want to hit Triumph Brewery and Eulogy.

If you've never been it's definitely worth it. I had many good times eating some yummy fries and drinking Belgian beers in Rittenhouse Square.

Here's my current beer fridge.

You cant really see them, but in the far back left, I have some dogfish head 120min IPA from 2007.

How do you like the Meantime IPA? I've had the London Porter, which I really enjoyed, and was going to pick up the IPA, but my store didn't have it in stock.

Quasmo, hows the Trois Pistoles?

If you like dark and strong Belgian ales then you'll love it. It's rich, deep, and spicy. You do taste the alcohol in it as well. Unibroue is another brewery that I like damn near everything they put out.

Quasmo, that's quite the beer selection.

I'm getting a little overwhelmed at the sheer variety of beer that I could try. :p

Just wait. There's more out there than most people can even conceive of! The only problems are price and availability. Beer snobbing can be an expensive hobby. (but totally worth it)
