Anandtech has a blog article on the AMD/ATI GPU price hike. While unfortunate, it sounds like the price hike was needed if AMD is trying to make a profit. Low yields by TSMC means they have less working GPU cores as well as higher costs for other components means they had to raise their prices. This doesn't seem like a case of price gouging folks, this is looking like a necessity of business it seems.
