But we don't like you because of "reps" and the lack of using all the letters in the alphabet for months. Maybe if you hadn't been a moron and quit that shit we would actually participate in these "thoughtful and relevant" threads of yours.

I didn't read the replies. But your confussed, XMAS is infact an atheist holiday. ROME adopted it to bring Barbarians(FRANKS) into the flock lol.

Christ was not born in DEC . Everone know s that.

Do not confuse the teachings of Rome with those of CHRIST . There not the same at all one is + the other-.

lol.. just for that? You guys are too sensitive. I suggest you read your post again and try to realize that those are very silly reasons to dislike someone. Seriously....

No, that is retarded. I still go to christmas with my family, but it's to see my family, eat dinner, have fun, and nothing else. I exchange gifts but wish that we didn't. The wife wouldn't give that up.

I'm not Athiest, but I'm not religious either. I look forward to Christmas because it's when the family gets together. I don't care why they get together.

I agree. My wife same deal . Just won't let go! LOL. It is a great Winter break. But I think I like Thanskgiving the Best. It just seems so right.

Don't you wish you wouldn't believe in the Bible so you would not have to cope with your 'God' having killed all those innocent children and babies with the great flood, and slaughtering all those first born children in Egypt?

My family is Agnostic and we celebrate Christmas as a secular holiday. We have a tree, presents, a big dinner, etc. My Jesus-lover friends always try to bring me to their little gatherings, though.

I believe, I just don't believe in religion and all its rules. The way Christmas has been commercialized and de-God'd, you don't even need to anymore. I can't even begin to point out how sacrilegous Santa and flying reindeers are.

While not an atheist, I have no problem enjoying the holiday as a celebration of charity and the winter season.

I even get a Christmas tree for the kids, and I'm not Christian, though if it were up to me, I wouldn't. I think they're dumb and wasteful, my wife put her foot down though.

Christians don't have a corner on the winter holiday market, and really you should be putting much more effort into celebrating easter, that's the real holiday, but Christmas has all the marketing.

That is part of American culture and traditions. I am Latin American, and a lot of us still give priority to the birth of Jesus than to Santa Claus, the reindeer and the Christmas tree. I'm sure a lot of you will agree with this.

No not really . Who am I to judge GOD. Lets talk about Judgement a little.

The HRCC AUTHOR of the new testement as we know it. Created SAINTS . People that go to heaven because of their lifes example. Yet Christ the foundation of the HRCC . OR is he???? Christ as example said Judge not least ye be judged. Seems to me the Church that delievered into all modern churches the new testment. Was lieing right from the start. After all it was Ceaser of ROME who resided over what went on . and whos words were heard.

Yeah, Thanksgiving is probably the best holiday around when taken at face value.

I honestly enjoy trying to infuse the regularly celebrated holidays with the context of thier quasi-pagan origins. If we were to connect with the earth a little more regularly it wouldn't be a bad thing.

Because a lot of religions have holidays around the same time (give or take a few weeks) that involve gift giving. Might as well market it well, especially since it is the end of the calendar year.

Same here.

My closest religious description would "Agnostic Deist" so celebrating Christmas for me is all about making the kids happy (so they can talk about Xmas with their friends) and spending time with family.

Funny, and a little sad, how the OP thinks one needs to embrace a religion to do that.
