I believe, I just don't believe in religion and all its rules. The way Christmas has been commercialized and de-God'd, you don't even need to anymore. I can't even begin to point out how sacrilegous Santa and flying reindeers are.

That is part of American culture and traditions. I am Latin American, and a lot of us still give priority to the birth of Jesus than to Santa Claus, the reindeer and the Christmas tree. I'm sure a lot of you will agree with this.

Wait, there are Non Catholic Latin Americans?

I am Catholic.

ok, just for your information, Christians are not Catholics. And Catholics are not Christians.

How do you figure that?

And as to the OP: No, I don't.

Catholicism does not focus on Jesus, Christianism does.

*Taps sarcasm meter.

keep tapping... ain't gonna fix itself.

I don't think so, it's not politics and definitely not news. OT is perfect.

Christmas is all about paid time off for me. That's countered with having to visit with family I don't like and be fake happy with them.

But then there's also another excuse to eat Honeybaked ham, which is amazing.

And have sex with my hot cousins... errr wait a second...

I only have one of those and she refuses to give it up. "But it's wrong" this and that. :(

Tell her that your parent that is a blood relative was really adopted, but they don't want it known throughout the family, so you two aren't related by blood and it's not wrong anymore.

That or that oral/anal isn't really sex and is okay.

I've tried both of those already but she still refuses. I'm out of ideas! ATOT I need your help! Maybe I'll just have to visit Dr. Chloroform. :(

It's the time for giving, so she should be giving some to you.

Try that yet?

I never said I was Christian...

Atheists: with Christmas approaching, don't you wished you believed?

Me, my family, and most of my friends always look forward to the Christmas season, and not just for the typical reasons (gifts, gifts, and more gifts), but primarily for what it means: celebrating the birth of Jesus next to your loved ones.

Hmm, these things look like pieces to a puzzle.
And when assembled, they indicate that you are in fact a Christian.

Or else they just say "Christ Christ Christ Jesus," like your mom said last night.

Now that I think about it, shouldn't true believers fight to restore dignity to Christmas? They should boycott "Christmas" shopping, gifts, trees, Frosty, etc. It would be bad for the economy though.

THe Lord said . Give to ceasar that which is ceasars and to God that which is Gods.

Catholicism does focus almost entirely on Jesus, and it is a part of Christianity. People who say that Catholicism isn't part of Christianity are just making up bullshit to further separate the two.

Go into any Catholic mass. Likely, the topic will be Jesus, or more specifically, Jesus's suffering. Hell, I would say Catholics are even more focused on Jesus. At least their cross HAS JESUS ON IT, while other sects just have a dinky t.

Catholicism makes sure, through vivid imagery, that the suffering of Christ is not forgotten. Sure, Catholicism has saints and other irrelevant crap, but the focus is highly on Jesus. The only figure that comes close to usurping Jesus's praise is the virgin Mary, however she is only praised for giving birth to Jesus. It all comes back to big J.

Plus, almost all Christian sects have, or should have, other figures their worship as well.

Me though? I think I will turn into fertilizer for some trees. I win in the long term.

LOL . If thats his biggest sin . He has little to worry about no matter what he believes. LOL.

No, this is the best time of the year to be an atheist. It's always nice to have the brains to not believe in invisible men in the sky, but around Xmas it's extra special. No need to listen to sappy music, no extra hollow rituals, no malls, no fire hazard trees, no decorating, no need to visit relatives you can't stand. I pretty much laugh at the believers year round, but this time of the year they give me even more material to work with.

Perhaps I should have used the word Protestants instead of Christians. I guess it's an issue of North American language use.

By not focused on Jesus I mean Catholics often pray to the various saints, Protestants do not.

That's a good one, I'll keep that in mind.

Could always just crawl in bed with her while she sleeps and start turning her on. That's a sure fire way to get in her pants.

You mean like a second account? That has been speculated much.

Your missing the whole point . It was infact the HRCC that assembled the new testment.
The HRRC at its conception was headed by Ceasar of ROME. READ The First Council of Nicaea Learn the trueth. Wake up. THe new testment is the work of ROME. ROME decided what was allowed into the book. Much like the Jews not allowing Enoch into the old book. Without Enoch its useless. THe Bishop of ROME never attended the Nician council. I am not saying these works other than Pauls are not inspired by trueth. But I will say the information we got was censored big time.

Nope. There's absolutely no reason that I need to believe in Christ to celebrate Christmas. I'm perfectly happy to appreciate the simple universal feelings of good tidings and joy with my friends and family. As a kid, Santa was all I needed to believe.

Winter festivals were celebrated long before Jesus came around.

Now factor in that, while I'm agnostic, my wife is Jewish so we also celebrate Chanukah...does that make your head spin OP?

Obviously Catholics are not Protestants. The only people I've ever seen who use "Christian" to mean "only Protestant" are the crazy anti-Catholic fundamentalists.

Put cameras in her house/room? Do some public records searching?
