There is also according to Ghostwalker's tweet, going to be a new thing added in MoP soon.

Much like Dungeon finder in WOTLK, and LFR in Cata, blizzard has an unanounced change in MoP comming probably in 5.3 or 5.4.

Also, 5.2 quests for the sunreavers/kirin tor will haev a cache, which have a possibility of dropping some elder charms of good fortune and the 5.2 version. (Raising the cap from 10-20)

Last night my group tried heroic bladelord:

24% after an hour was our best run. Fight is not too easy, yet it is simple in mechanics. It just requires no one to die, especially in P1. (Need as many to stack for unseen strike as possible)

So, looking for some input from current players. I'm resubbing to hang with a friend of mine and get my MMO fix in. Last time I played was probably the first tier in Cata, was in a moderately decent raid guild. We weren't getting server firsts or the like but most everyone was reasonably competent. I have both a rogue (my old main) and a shammy at 85. I need to figure out which one I want to transfer to the new server. Anything I should be aware of? I guess I'm looking for "Ugh, leave the rogue they are in a crappy place right now", or "Everyone once a shammy healer, transfer that one" comments. I enjoy playing both so either works.

Suggestions?

Shaman healing is ok. Elemental dps is bretty BA at the moment. So Shaman would always be a good choice.

However rogue isn't doing bad, though next patch 5.2 assassination will be the spec you will want to go.

Heirlooms.

Or you can go to the Cata crafting mats vendor in SW and burn them there. Won't get you much, but at least it would be SOMETHING you could turn on the AH.

EDIT: Or convert to honor until you're honor capped. Should be introducing more honor gear when the new season happens.

I havent been JP capped forever. I didn't know people still could get JP capped, since its only 40/42 JP per a heroic boss kill.

I just happened to look at it this morning so I may have been capped for awhile. Ive been running heroics/scernarios a lot lately to cap VP everyweek for the 6k quest. I think there is a few pvp mounts I can buy with JP is so thats what I will do. I know that if not there is a mount in Dalaran that cost like 3k JP.

As for heirlooms I have all of the ones I need for my current characters. I guess I could buy some more just to have but I think I might go the honor route to get some pvp gear just to have.

I've got several chars jp/honor capped as they are alts I haven't played in awhile. But yeah, not much to spend them on.

I was hoping they would add the same thing as cata for JP. Well they did, just have to use the S of harmony for them. I wish I could use them to upgrade a few pieces of gear for my DK's tank set.

Joined a MSV pug with apparently a guild that came from a low pop server, freshly transferred. They were all so happy that flasks were 83 gold on this server(high price, usually can get them for 60 gold).

Feel bad for my raid that I bailed on - the mage they got to replace me is not only terrible (ie, not hit capped), but he's also not playing arcane correctly. He was over 40k dps lower than me on Feng, and about 30k behind on everything else. He was even taking spirit gear because it was an upgrade. Ouch.

In other news, was finally able to buy a Two of Tigers for 1500g last night. It's been over a month since I've seen one on the AH. I was expecting to have to pay 5k+ for it, because I know there's a lot of people with nearly complete decks missing only that card (was 3 of us in my 10man alone). Since I was able to get it so cheap, that means the full deck cost me somewhere around 10k. I'll take it! The str/agi trinkets are by far the most expensive ones on my server.

Might consider selling it, could double my money probably. It was just going to go to my rogue that I don't play...

Its probably an AH botter buying them all up to artificially raise the price on the completed decks.

Ghostcrawler said it was going to be a very controversial idea... and it turned out to be dull, predictable and not even a real incentive to do mroe 25s. Just to keep the 25s from falling apart.

Part of thr peroblem is a lot of people did hate the significant difference between them before; the casual "10 man" complained that they were considered 2nd class raiders while the 25's felt the need to also do the 10 for completeness and more chance for gear.

At this point I'd just say screw it and make it all 10 man and if you wanted larger person activity thendo so using outdoor boss raid events.

Did have some lover/hate moments last night. First I. Flying to a new daily area and look away from the monitor long enough that I killed myself due to fatigue. At which point you can't do a damn thing cause of that retarded ass rez sickness penalty.

Then I start leveling up the shammy that I hadn't touched much since wrath, currently finishing up zuldrak. I'm an 82, about 6 or so wrath era epics from some lfr and filling a spot on guild/friend raids along with several cata/mop greens. Some 76 mage comes up pops his ice shield and starts attacking me. He's got about 12k health while I'm at 45. Hit the shock button which is absorbed, then lavaburst which drops the remainder of the shield then drops him. No idea what he was thinking but god was that funny.

I just don't get mistweaver monk raid healing. Either that or 20k-25k hps is normal for ilvl 470 gear (just got into HOF pt1 LFR). I've read the icy-veins and elitistjerks write-ups on single and aoe target healing and in a 25-man LFR I'm a bottom-dweller each time. If I stand up with melee and slowly jab/blackout kick to generate mana tea, I have little issue keeping decent mana, but that's hardly any HPS. If I stand there and generate mana tea furiously and snipe-heal, that's still not a lot of HPS. If I stand at range and heal normally with soothing mist and enveloping mist to generate mana tea and do occasional uplifts (glyphed), I run out of mana pretty quickly.

I reforge for spirit then haste as a secondary. Have about 6200 spirit. What could I be doing wrong?

EDIT>> I just came in 3rd of 6 healers with 38k HPS on Garalon but I was constantly out of mana. Like over half the fight I was under 10% and using trinkets and mana tea to get it back. I'm using the mana tea glyph and doing it on CD as much as possible but there's just very few stacks by standing at range during the fight and relying on soothing mist and renewing mist on CD.

I'm not a fan of "fistweaving". I think someone alluded to it before - it's just a lot of work - feels like more effort than watching CDs and rotations while playing a difficult dps class. And with my resto shammy I led LFRs easily and all I really did was stand there and healing rain for the majority of HPS. But I left that guy on the old server - need to learn this guy.

Thought the new rep quest from the farm would be a nice way to work on alts, but now they say you will have to be exalted with the farm before the quests become available, boo.

So I decided to finally give mists a go. I'm still undecided as to what I really want to play though. I haven't been following much and have been away for so long that it's pretty overwhelming. I was going to level my rogue, but if they're as op as there were in cata then I don't think I want to go that route.

I have a pally, rogue and druid at 85 with a priest at 80. Are all of them viable (holy, sub, boom, and shadow)? Also, are there any resources available online that I could peruse that would help with the changes? Holy on the pally looks fun, but I don't know a damn thing about it. I suppose the easiest way would be to jump right in and figure it all out. I was just hoping there was something else out there that would help in my downtime :)

Thanks!

I think you would be satisfied with rogue or priest. Rogue does good damage and is getting bufed in 5.2, while priest is all around a good damage dealer.

On a side note, I bought a Grand Yak, just because I could. Gold is really pretty much meaningless with everything being so cheap.

First (I main a healing monk --> Ashkongfu : last LFR garalon kill had me at 110k HPS. granted no one else was really healing it seemed outside a 75k HPS paladin)

-Now stat breakdown: spirit > Int > haste to 3148 (While in tiger stance) > Crit > everything else.
-Gemming:

meta - 432 Spirit and 3% crit effect increase
Red - Int + spirit gem
Blue - Spirit gem
Yellow - haste/crit + spirit gem

-Fistweaving is good healing for low periods of damage, it should never be your main source of healing. You have to jump between fistweaving and normal healing, to maximize the efficiency of monk healing. Some fights you may not even want to fistweave, since you really don't want to be standing in melee range.

-Almost always use renewing mist on cooldown on someone who does not have the HoT and is at least below 90% health.

-Also right before a huge aoe damage period, make sure you use thunder focus tea, and then uplift to refresh all the mists out there. (this means you can uplift with 9-12 people having mists a few times).

-If heavy aoe healing is needed, jab > jab > uplift. While renewing mist is on people. Otherwise Chi wave or a well used Chi blast works. Serpent spin kick should only be used if you don't have many other options and it can hit 10+ people (as it will also proc mastery)

-If the tank is taking huge single target damage, use healing sphere at his feet. Cheap, no cooldown, and heals a lot.

-Glyph Mana tea, and make sure you use it on cooldown when you have 2 stacks.

-Also use dispell harm, anytime you are hurt. It heals you for like 30k, gives you 1 chi, could hurt an enemy if your near one, and is cheaper than Jab.

-Make sure you are using the Jade serpent statue.

-Make sure to use the lv 90 talents to the best of your ability, xuen is great healing with crane stance and the statue active. The chi torpedo is great if used correctly. The serpent kick increase is weak, however has some specific uses.

How to fist weave:

1. Jab > tiger palm > Jab until enough chi for 2 BoK > 2x BoK
2. Now just auto attack while casting renewing mists as needed. Refresh the 30s BoKx2 buff with 1 BoK before it falls off, tiger palm when buff falls off.
3a. If you have high mana regen, and no renewing mists are currently needed, and your mana is full (You regained mana to full after jabbing to 1x tiger palm and 2x BoK) go ahead and jab a few times and store the chi. (So mana can continue to regen, its almost like energy in a way, as you do not want it to cap, as you can turn mana into chi (through small heals) which can become mana tea later.)
3b. If you still have full mana going on you can start spending that chi and create more chi, thus creating mana tea for later use. (Chi wave is really good when fistweaving)

Do not just blackout kick willy-nilly.

How much is the yak? Have the tundra already so not really in a useful need for one and still have other ones to buy.

Which though that they added a complete mount database to the UI like they did with pets.

Did look at my abandoned alliance chars to see how many coins I had to get the pet. Bastards had at most about 6 on any one, so I'll actually have to do a bit of work to grab the alliance version.
