I debated buying the collectors edition for the mount, then I realized that its basically the same thing as buying The Heart of the Aspects or the Winged Guardian since the extra money is just that.. lol

Good grief playing a prot pally seems strangely familiar like back in vanilla where I could swing all damn day and not kill anything.

I can understand your dislike for the new talent system, because it doesn't really feel like talents. Although, is that really the worst thing? It might be good for WoW to differentiate itself from all the other MMOs... that are trying to be WoW. :p

However, sometimes innovating for innovation's sake might not be the best idea. :p

very true.

I just wish they kept prot seperate from the DPS. do i as a protection warrior need eo even have the option of bladestorm? though the idea of sword hitting them then the shield is rather funny..

I haven't had any issues with aggro though. so i guess its ok lol

they have said that some classes are having pre-90 balance issues but haven't played enough of them or read to see which ones other than some mention of healers.

rotflmao... even reinstalling WoW didn't fix my crashes.

what's next, reinstalling my OS? the only thing that's changed is patch 5.0.4 (which was running fine until I attempted to run AV yesterday... 5 minutes into AV, the client crashed. now, as soon as I log in with any character, the game crashes instantly)

Ugh. Looks like Powerauras isn't getting an update. At least not any time soon. Can anyone recommend an equal alternative?

after one of the main patches from cata I had the issue with very often game lag, no crashes but it sucked anyway.

now that I think about it, during one of the wrath patch cycles there was a problem where a lot of people would get disconnected as soon as they entered the game world, I did have that one. what was real bad about that is it happened on one of my 2 comps. so this isn't anything new, just may be awhile before they can find and hotfix the main cause.

Did they nerf Shield of Righteousness that much? It was always my huge hitter when I played my Paladin, but I will admit that when I leveled him in Cataclysm, I just went Retribution instead. You can always choose tank gear over DPS gear when offered in a quest and still tank instances.

Although, one thing to consider is that at least in my Cataclysm experience (i.e. this may have changed!!), Prot Pallies do a ton of AoE damage. When I was doing Zul'Aman, I would easily beat everyone on the DPS meter on the tiger packs. Of course, you have to completely switch up your rotation to do that, but pulling multiple mobs might help you with your DPS. That concept has almost always been one of the staples of playing a tank while leveling... you fight tons of shit at once because it's harder to die! :p

anyone know of any similar to autobar addons. xperl just got updated so looks like I'm either all covered or know an update is imminent for everything but this one.

Autobar is the one that automatically populates the bar depending on which buttons you enable, right? Things like potions, flasks, etc. I haven't seen one, but awhile back, I eventually just stopped using Autobar. I just put stuff manually in a bar since my potions and stuff don't normally change at max level.

That's weird. I haven't had any issues at all. Are your drivers up to date too? I'm running with a nVidia card with driver release 304.79.

I think... Because the budget for pvp gear is higher than normal. If it were similar level it might be strong enough to use in pve. There was a blue post explaining that pvp gear would be lower but I didn't read it...

so at what "pvp power" is it better than a main stat (ie. a 50 agi gem).. because if I use a pvp cloak I lose the gem slot, but gain pvp power. I'm thinking it would take well over the 100 pvp power to replace that.

Another question - with these implementations of class changes at this point, are they wildly out of balance right now? PVP and PVE.

Well pvp power goes both ways, it's offense and defense. However I want to know the same thing, for raw damage how much pvp power = 1 main stat.

Main stat/pvp power gems?

I'm running int/crit because I'm trying to get to 33.34% crit (about .3% away) so I'm gem for it. 33.34% crit for a mage =100% crit on frozen (all mages get shatter)=guaranteed pyros under deep freeze.

Yes they did. Remember how when it crits something's going to die? No more but like
Lupi said hopefully this is just a pre-patch balance issue and will get better once I hit 90. For now I'm back to Ret which I haven't played since Wrath.

It didn't crit because something was going to die, but it crit because of the buff from using... I think Judgement and something else (I believe it was later changed to just Judgement).

Basically it hits like a wet noodle now, he is saying.

I still wish though that the talent choices.

And to clarify what I was saying earlier. It isnt how they set up the talents but:

If they gave 3 interesting choices (some do) then itd be fun to think which one I want. (However usually these are the ones that there is a "duh your an idiot for not choosing X")

But most of the time it is 3 UNinteresting choices, and would not be useful/affect me in any way shape or form so I just click one to move onto the next row.

I think the talents are fine. If anything is boring, it has to be the glyphs! I checked my Shaman and Rogue, and there was only one actual decent major glyph. Talents are pretty situational, but at least they make me think about them per encounter.

Glyphs are really kind of meh. There are very few that are needed, and the rest are truly optional.

I actually have a harder time choosing minor glyphs rather than majors. :p

EDIT:

still no green fire glyph

sigh

I think I recall seeing a blue post on MMOC about how that was on the back-burner for some reason. I can't remember the specifics.

What aik said, talents are fine.

As for green fire, from last update I remember it turned out to be more hardcoded than they had thought. They could give everyone one green fire but couldn't make it selective to just locks or just the locks that wanted it yet.
