I have a feeling they are going to nerf Execute on my warrior. I was doing a quick LFR dungeon run and I managed to crit for 300k. Before the patch, I could have maybe hit for like 150k on a good day. Not sure what that is all about.

yeah, they are gonna need to do some tweaking. I dunno, maybe they wont though and just let it play out until Pandaria. Maybe everything will even out at level 90 with the way they have it set up right now...

But it does seem like some classes are doing ridiculous damage. Warriors...and I was in a LFR with a fire mage who did a SUSTAINED ~100k dps.

Granted, thats with LFR bonuses. But still.

horde seems to have gone from bad in 4.3 to mouth-breathing bad in 5.0.

all I wanted were the PvP pants/chest for the "epic" achievement

You're not going to see classes nerfed based on what they do at 85. The new setup is tuned for 90.

They have made changes to classes in this period before but only when it was grossly OP.

Fire is OP but not by such a margin, warriors are even more disgusting but it's not killing pvp. Our prot was doing ~60-80K dps on the first two platforms of madness.

I'm not sure what I'm more surprised about... the amount of DPS the protection warrior is doing or that you're still raiding Dragon Soul!

I think they switched around Battlegroups or something, my win percent's actually much higher than it was.

My shaman dps went up considerably, my lock went down in PvE also considerably.

despite the nonstop QQ'ing about healers on the official forums, I'm not really feeling it on my resto shaman. still feels like any class with an interrupt can beat me like a red-headed stepchild, thanks to my lack of instant casts.

but my dps feels a lot higher as elemental, especially my burst DPS with insta-cast lava blast procs.

mages feel like totally beasts in PvP right now. I think I got ice lance'd to death last night.

and fighting a resto druid is like fighting a raid boss... there's just no way to out-dps their heals unless you have friends to help (and thanks to hots, travel form, and shadowmeld/stealth, it's not even worth the effort)

Do you keep Lava Burst on your bars? Most PVPers aren't smart enough to check the actual spell being cast and will usually interrupt a healer at the first chance. Put Lava Burst on your bars and cast it instead of a heal if you see an interrupter on you. This way, you're only locking out your Fire tree, which is just Lava Burst, Fire Totems (I think those count) and Flame Shock. Draenei Shaman used to do this with Gift of the Naaru (Holy spell), but I don't think it has a cast time anymore.

Druids aren't easy to beat, but I have beat them on my Shaman from time to time. You can remove the HoTs. I'm pretty certain they aren't immune to being slowed while in travel form, but shapeshifting removes any effects currently on them. I've never had one get away and stealth though... they'd have to get out of combat for that.

Just farming mounts, it took us less than 2 hours last night.

Yeah the Draenunu heal is an instant hot now.

Hmm with dispels on an 8s cooldown, what about keeping Flame Shock on them? Magma Totem still exists, doesn't it? They'd have to get far enough away from you, and that's with Shamans also having a slightly slower Ghost Wolf form.

The one hard thing about PVP is that there are always a billion things you can attempt, and there are quite possibly a counter action to each of those for the class. It's like a P&N insult session... a constant attempt to slightly one-up the other person!

thats what i was talking about with the druids a few pages ago! you know they are laughing at you as they run away and live forever while you foolishly and futilely attempt to chase and kill them.

so i leveled my damn druid. hit 85 a couple days ago and ilvl 385 already. /flex. yeah, I spent about 10k gold big whoop wanna fight about it?

I hate running into those damn trees in pvp. I once spend a few minutes trying to kill one on my rogue. I had it under 5% but then all the hots went up and before I knew it, the stupid tree was full health again. I just vanished and ran away. I did however keep this healer away from the flag in WSG for some time and it helped our team get a flag cap

I keep it on my bars and use it sometimes (that little bit of burst after wind shear to help kill the healer is awesome). Fake cast with a greater healing wave (having something with healing in it makes it just too tempting), combined with an interrupt tracker it does help some, sometimes. Just the other day I had 3 on me and I pulled the interrupt from all of them and had several free casts. Haha, that seldom works but when it does...

Then again, sometimes you fake cast, no int, fake cast, no int, fake ca... hey I'm dead. Then the times you hold it too long and they actually do catch ya.

So, as an aside to my above story Bliz found people weren't dying in BGs fast enough and did a -30% nerf to healing Tuesday.

EDIT: I miss banishing trees, but I've been killing them all right, surprisingly well on my lock. Post nerf I've solo'd several druids of various varieties, I think at least a couple restos. My opinion of OP in this transient environment would include mages (!!!) and holy pallys. I had a holy pally just destroy my nearly full Cat equip'd resto shaman, and mages are dominating the charts.

finally bought my last piece of PvP gear on my shaman and got the "cataclysmically epic" achievement.

think I'll spend the rest of my Cat time PvE'ing on my rogue, grinding reps in 5-mans since I probably won't be able to do that post-Cat... I'd like to get exalted in all the Cat factions before I can no longer queue up for the level 85 instances.

so I'm on the fence about Horde v Alliance PvP

Alliance seem to win more, but have 5+ minute queues.
Horde seem to always lose, but have instant queues.

it may be a wash... I wish I had dalies or something to do on my Ally character while queued up. it might make it better.

Queue for 2 specific BGs, when you get out of one the second will pop very quick. Queue a second one before you enter so you have another ready when you get out.

Of course that doesn't work if you want to do randoms.

I think I've discovered the trick for my battlegroup.

weekends: horde tends to win the CtA BG and alliance tends to win randoms
weekdays: alliance tends to win everything

I've been having fun rocking faces off with my Alliance spriest this weekend on randoms <3 hit 85 on Thursday and I'm already up to ilevel 370 (spending maybe 200g on BoE's)
