ooh... a whole month or so... big deal..

if you're concerned with raiding for another month.. knowing the xpac is coming out... you need to get out more. none of your progression is gonna matter come December 7th..

and technically.. Ruby Sanctom is currently End Game..

I promised not to take the troll bait so all I will say is your post is not helpful.

And we will have to agree to disagree with what is end game in Northrend. Although RS was implemented after ICC it is not generally considered “Northrend End Game” content but rather an opener/introduction to Cataclysm. It is a direct story line tie in to Deathwing and not “End Game” content.

If you have anything constructive to add to the Hunter discussion I’m more than willing to listen. I will also apologize if my concerns with what Blizzard has done with the hunter class in game somehow offends you, as that is not my intention.

Shit your gear from ICC doesnt mean shit once you get ahold of a 81 green >.<

Just like it was in BC and WotKL. All those Purple items being replaced by blues form early five mans just broke my heart. I expect that to be the case again in Cata.

the gear reset between BC and WotLK was pretty weak... my main went into Naxx still using a lot of his BT/SWP gear. even my alts in KZ/heroic gear didn't start replacing it until 72-73 (by comparison, my MC/BWL-geared rogue had most of his gear replaced by the end of HFP and I don't remember my warlock going into KZ still using anything from AQ40/Naxx-40 except maybe an offhand or trinket)

my understanding is that in Cat, just about everyone is going to be replacing all of their gear nearly immediately.

home now, watched about 5 minutes of the live stream and it was pretty good quality then it hit a buffer snag so I just went back an hour and change to catch the start.

lol, bunch of idiots running like mad from the doors to get the front row seats.

and having dual monitors makes watching the stream sweet.

and the only thing more sad than the fools making noise/gestures infront of the lets see the idiot cameras at the front door are those bringing a piece of paper inside so they can flash their in game names.

now that was interesting, grandma and grandpa just walked by.

i was basically saying the same thing but in a nicer way :p. the key to these changes is that everyone needs to relearn to play their class. this is a circumstance where saying "L2P" actually applies and is not a flame or troll. we are all relearning.

going off one of the examples in this thread "i could do do 10-12k dps using volley before patch..." well that doesn't apply anymore. you should still be able to achieve similar numbers but the new design requires you to do more than simply press [insert aoe spell here].

You don’t play a hunter as your main do you?

So when, if anyone knows, did test dummies start doing damage to your weapons?

I was on the test dummy, where I am most nights these days, and I suddenly couldn’t DPS any more. My bow was completely at 0/90 and I had to go get it repaired.

Also is damage scaling at all based on your gear health? Am I doing less damage with a bow at 10/90 then at a full 90/90?

I’ve never had the test dummy do that to my gear before.

I tried arms last night. It's incredibly strong, but still can't hold a candle to the flexibility and control of prot in PVP. But as rage generation is lacking for prot warriors (in PVP at least), I'll have to stay arms until it's rebalanced. A good fix for prot would be up the damage on devastate and revenge slightly, and reducing the rage cost of devastate. That would fix most of the issues.

Side note, I finally achieved Loremaster last night. Though, I'll probably never sport the title over R Glad or W Glad :D

i've said in many posts that i do not. in fact i've said many times that i may not know what i'm talking about. all i am really saying is that relearning the class is a requirement with such major changes. i personally can't expect everyone(anyone) to adjust to the changes fully in a week. i play a paladin and a shaman as mains with a great deal of experience on every class except warlocks and priests and dks. my ret felt very gimped after the patch b/c it was. hunters may have been the same...i don't know. all i do know is that my damage before the patch at level 72 was decent and after the patch and after relearning the focus system and shot rotations, my damage is still decent if not better. it's also more fun to play and the class actually makes since for the first time in almost 7 years. :p

I'd like to try it on my mage (who I collect mounts with) but I don't know if I can survive the bird phase.

some dungeon stuff from the con, not only did DM and SK get heroic, but they've also redone the normal mode. Many of the old world dungeons have either been broken up, or redesigned (ST now like 1/3 former size).

I did it VERY easily on a DK. A bunch of others are soloing it in my guild. I know of a hunter and a rogue who are having no problems.

some raid stuff (new "design philosophies")

more raid zones at ship
smaller sized raids, able to finish a raid in one night
normal difficulty raid ID is tied to the player character
heroic difficulty is saved via traditional raid wide ID

new feature announcement: enhanced dungeons maps. every dungeon in game will have a 2D map, detailed boss info (like the WoWwiki page included), lol, he actually then uses a phrase along the lines of "like alt-tabbing to wowhead". will also have a 3d boss image and will also be included for all raids.

during Q&A describes the old dungeon tuning as "removing the suckage" but says because BRD so intertwined no major changes done, but ulduar style portals added to it and many other dungeons. graveyards also moved/added near the entrance of all dungeons.

lol, this is pretty funny. they got a server set up with just paragon on it doing random raid boss fights currently in front of org and getting their ass kicked.

lol, bunch of the original MC bosses just massively pumped up and the indivudal boss effects when grouped are ass raping them.
