I'm guessing the fire mage "nerfs" are more like fixing bugs that just happen to be incredibly beneficial to that spec. Pyromaniac being constant, and having 5 prime glyphs be in effect at the same time because a few of them are incorrectly majors right now.

Druid - Tank and either boomkin or heal
Pally - Tank and ret
Dk - Tank and dps

I think I have the tanking down on the druid and DK but the pally kinda sucks for me right now. Havent dpsed much with my DK and I rarely use my OS on my Druid.

Druid Heal: Really two specs you can do, I have both 1st for tank healing and second for raid healing:

- Use a built & glyphes like this
- Get rid off Spirit by reforging:
if there is crit on the item:
spirit -> haste
if there is haste on the item:
spirit -> crit
- Try to reach the "reju 7 ticks haste cap" by using int & haste gems until 1015 haste-rating
- Use a meta with int or +crit heal
- Use crit & sp enchants for Head and Shoulder
- Only use Leather items and try to get some with crit & haste
Healing in PvE:
- Keep 3x lb on the Tank
- Use WG & SM on Cooldown (SM in camps)
- Don't spam Reju but cover everyone who gets dmg
- Use Regro as a flash-heal If things get critical:
- Use ToL
- Spam Lb on everyone who gets dmg -
Use OoC-Procs for instant Regros
- Still use WG & SM on Cooldown

- Use a built like this
- Get rid off Spirit by reforging:
if there is crit on the item:
spirit -> haste
if there is haste on the item:
spirit -> mastery
- reach the "reju 7 ticks haste cap" by using int & haste gems until 1015 haste-rating
- you probably need a mana-meta Healing in PvE:
- use every gcd for hots to benefit from mastery
- no nourish, no ht, no real tank healing besides the hots

That's from EJ

Pretty much Mastery is much more beneficial in 10 mans, crit seems to be a little ahead in 25.

2 points in Swift Rejuvenation is a waste of points. If you have that much haste, you'll have a 1.09 GCD, so at most, only one point is useful... the other is literally doing nothing right now.

I still don't get all the hate for Nourish. It seems the biggest complaint I see is that it should heal for more... it costs 3x less than HT!

The difference in your build and mine are that I have no points in GotEM, 1/2 in Nature's Majesty and only 1/2 Swift Rejuv. The points were put in the cleanse talent (kinda meh but I like the utility), 2/2 Empowered Touch and 3/3 Furor. Although, with some of my own personal play style, GotEM might've had more value since I like LB as a quick HoT on an injured person, but when used just for tanks, I don't see it blooming much. The instant portion on Rejuv is alright, but I didnt want to spend 3 points on it.

I think nourish is a waste, I could sit here and argue with you but it's not worth it to me since everyone has different play styles.

It's far easier to refresh a LB stack with a life bloom and flash heal with regrowth...blah blah blah

Those are cookie cutter specs, the guy asked for help so I'm giving him two options, if you want to argue about them go to EJ was just giving him references.

edit* the tone isn't condescending so don't get your panties in a bunch

yeah they gotta be careful - i dont mind being a weak retribution paladin for a while if it means they have time to see the real situation

i re-subbed after 10 month break, cause i was bored. I'm probably getting expansion but for the large part, super-super casual.

I'm really sad that they wont have a dedicated Resto Tree form. I loved walking around in tree form, made it fun.

Is now a good time to AH my guild bank crap, frostweave, gems, enchanting mats? I have 4 guild bank tabs of this crap that i probably wont use.

I will partially disagree with the first remark. If the tank currently is not at full HP and you need to refresh LB, why not use Nourish. Although, I just noticed that they removed the bonus crit from Nourish, which could've made I even better combined with Living Seed.

Isn't Regrowth a bit expensive to cast like that? Especially since people want us to remove spirit... I think Regrowth costs 1.3k?

Don't try to do the searing pain build(s) anymore, that change seems to have already made it to live.

Anything that is mainly end game only use you had better dump it now. Because of gear changes with patch you may have some decent sells. After that the only things that will sell are those items used by someone leveling a profession that doesn't have their own stock.

Mana isn't really an issue for me right now, with the second build I have 50K mana with GoTW and Flask of the North. I did reforge incorrectly though and made crit into haste and spirit into crit, so I still have something like 1100 mp5, 34% crit and 1015 haste.

I'm going to correct everything tonight and raid with it, I'll be able to have more information then.

The only time I've come close to running out of mana was I pretty much solo healed a togc 10 insanity run and forgot to innervate on anub.

More to come!

a few times getting loading screens to instances (or out of them) but the progress bar doesn't progress. Have to shutdown WoW completely. Just happened now and I tried to run the launcher to get back in and even the launcher doesn't load. Still flaky out there.

Ya I had this same problem on 5m ToC last night. Once it got loaded it worked each time I queued for it.

Same problem joining instances here - now and again. 7 attempts since the patch: twice froze before entering, once froze immediately after entering and once froze during the run. Able to actually complete three runs...

1) We buffed the base points and coefficients of many warrior dps abilities. We didn't do as much to tanking abilities.

We buffed the base points and coefficients of many Ret abilities.

We buffed the base points and coefficients of many Feral cat abilities.

2) We lowered the base points and coefficients of many Mage abilities, but lowered Fire more than the other two.

3) We nerfed Shadow Word: Death, but it is possible we didn't nerf it enough. It should not be Shadow's biggest spell.

4) We returned Searing Pain's damage to its 3.3.5 levels.

5) We increased the benefit of resilience by 50% for players level 80 and below. The tooltips will probably not reflect this change.

We don't have any other changes to announce at this time. I am reluctant to mention additional classes or specs that we are looking at currently for fear of instilling excitement or panic.

The cooldown functionality was changed in patch 4.0.1 and what you're reporting is not actually a bug. All profession cooldowns will now reset at midnight server time. This means if you, say, cut an Icy Prism at 11:55 p.m. server time, you will be able to cut another one at 12:01 a.m. server time (six minutes later). You will then not be able to cut another Icy Prism until 12:01 a.m. server time the following day.

The change in design is to truly make cooldowns one per day, rather than forcing players to log in at the same time every day (or staggering your schedules) to make sure your cooldowns are up.

main relevant point here is this is the design they've come up with for cata.

I can't seem to select my Water Elemental's Frostnova while I'm casting a spell. Anyone else experiencing this?

It sounds crazy... but Elemental actually seems rather fun on my (second) Shaman. He's not very geared (still even has a blue or two and mostly ilevel 232 T9), but he pulled 6.2k DPS with no glyphs. I was having a bit of trouble with the new spell queue system... I'm way too used to just spamming the next button that I want, but I end up queuing .5s or so ahead, but then I end up wanting to switch to Lava Burst ( the CD just reset or whatever ) or to Earth Shock for Fulmination 'cause I just hit 7 or so LS stacks and FS might be nearing 6s left on the CD.

As we prepare to raise the level cap and introduce two new races with the Cataclysm expansion, it's important to keep in mind that the game world is going through tremendous changes that will affect the availability of certain rare mounts and items.

Swift Zulian Tiger
Zul'Gurub is changing from a raid to a leveling zone in 4.0.3, and this mount will no longer be obtainable.

Swift Razzashi Raptor
This mount will also no longer be obtainable after the change to Zul'Gurub.

Razzashi Hatchling
With the change to Zul'Gurub this non-combat pet will no longer be obtainable.

Tome of Polymorph: Turtle Mage
This tome will continue to be available through other means.

Crusader's White/Black Warhorse and Swift Alliance Steed/Swift Horde Wolf
As the attempt-based tribute system is being removed from Heroic Trial of the Crusader, the Argent Crusade Tribute Chest will no longer spawn, and these mounts will no longer be obtainable

Reins of the Blue Drake
This mount will once again be available from defeating 10-player Malygos without needing to use the Dungeon Finder. The Reins of the Azure Drake will only be available on 25-player Malygos.

Mimiron's Head
This mount will change to be a very low drop chance when defeating 25-player Yogg'Saron with no Keepers assisting you

Invincible
This mount will change to be a very low drop chance when defeating Heroic 25-player Lich King

Although we have no current plans to introduce new ways to obtain the Zul'Gurub mounts, pets, and the tribute mounts, they may return should we find a place where they fit in the future.

Tanked H ICC 10 on my Deathknight last night - I used 2 different builds: the first for max RP gen, and a second with Long diseases. I swapped back and forth. Both are nice for different reasons: Long Diseases are obviously a little more forgiving. But I preferred the RP build for max Rune Strike availability.

The group was mixed. My DK ("Therise" <Mainstream>, The Scryers - not my current Main) is in 251 Tier pieces, crafted 264 legs/boots, and has the 264 2H mace from Blood Princes. Most of our DPSers were 264+, and I was able to hold threat just fine as long as I paid attention.

Some Observations:

- Do your job and Threat is fine. Survivability is very good.

- First and Foremost: Deathknight Tanking is no longer about using every ability as it comes available. It is about using the RIGHT ability. For example, once Frost Fever is up, you don't use Icy Touch any more. Saving the Rune for Death Strike is clearly more threat, not to mention damage reduction. Before, if your rotation wasn't perfect you could make it up with a little Icy Touch abuse. That crutch is now gone: You *will* notice the difference when you make a mistake. Early Mistakes can let your Casters catch up with you on Threat. And with the slower Rune regeneration, mistakes are a little harder to recover from. BUT, the new Rune Strike allows for VERY excellent Threat (I saw 30K TPS from time to time). From this I found the best approach was to get your opening right to establish a threat lead. Once that's done, you don't have to be afraid to sit on your rune powered abilities to correct a mistake (if needed).

- - - The Takeaway here is "Being More Thoughtful And Correct Is Much Better Than Being Quick and Making Mistakes"

- As an Offtank, you will have a harder time keeping ahead of your Damage Dealers. Rune Strike is *that* important to our threat gen.

- As Blood, Diseases are good to have up and you want to be reasonably diligent about it, but if they fall off for a bit here and there it's not as significant a drop in threat it used to be. So, if using a Heart Strike means you have to let your diseases fall off, then HS away!

- The new Runestrike is Amazing - It works like Revenge for a Warrior, only better - If you're in Blood Presence and getting hit, it comes up A LOT - Damned near spammable as long as you have enough Runic Power. AAMOF, it damned near *IS* spammable on trash. For this reason, I preferred the RP build (Max Scent of Blood).

- Icy Touch is no longer the Threat Crutch it used to be: It's multiplier was removed, so now it does the same threat/damage ratio as your other abilities.

- Icy Touch is now a SPELL, not a weapon based strike. Be advised that you will occasionally miss with it unless you spend points in the Unholy Tree for the spell hit. I haven't tested/decided if speccing that way is worth while in light of IT's new/lower threat multi. Pre Patch, if IT was missing you would absolutely fix it. Now, I'm less convinced it's necessary except to ensure you get your diseases up so you can switch to Death Strike

- As before, Heart Strike is your Bread and Butter, Rune Strike is the Meat. Death Strike is what you do with your FU pairs, period. Blood Boil is nice for AoE, HS otherwise. Take Obliterate off of your bar as a Tank.

- Death and Decay is good AoE threat, but you still have to do your work, *and* with the new CD's and Rune regen know that it'll only be available to cover about 1/3rd of the fight. I found it best to drop it when you knew there would be lots of adds (traps before Rotty/Fester), and from there spread your Diseases, Blood Boil on CD, and Tab/RuneStrike. Then don't bother dropping it again. Warriors will be familiar with the drill. People used to playing the old way, and/or playing other tank classes will have to learn.

Well druid healers seem a little OP right now lol...

I was double the next healer in HPS last night...

Hit 16k on Festergut, 20k on trash. Healing really hasn't changed for us besides swiftmend on cool down now in a melee pack. I expect some nerfs very soon.

Finally went and specced the lock in destro last night. After first and only try hit 8k on the dummy in ToC level gear. At the moment these spell rotations are obscene, it makes me yearn for the old aff rotation before they tamed it down in early wrath.

Well I did a lot more work last night on my Hunter.

First off I got the latest Omen, DBM, and most important right now, Recount.

Then I checked my talents against the top five or six marksman hunters on my server and found that my build matched theirs more or less. I say more or less because not all of them had the same exact build, likely because the jury is still out on some of the talents.

I swapped out one glyph. I didn’t re-forge any gear, mainly because I don’t have any specs on my gear that are bad for my class, and I didn’t need to change any gems.

I headed to the target dummy, used my usual raid food and raid potion, and then I did my usual 3 minute tests.

The best result I came up with was in the 5800-5900 range, which on the target dummy is very respectable. This was actually pretty consistent on all of the tests I ran.

I expect my damage output to be higher on raid bosses, due to raid buffs. On top of that there are several shots that don’t work on the test dummy like "Kill Shot" which does massive amounts of damage, and Multi shot.

Overall I'm pleased with the damage output and I'm looking forward to my Guilds Sundays Raid.

Other things to note, Blizzard has completely gutted Hunter AOE ability. They removed Volley from hunters; they say (info from a Blue Post) because it didn’t make sense as a hunter talent. I suspect the true reason is that they couldn't balance the AOE DPS output with the new hunter system.

In place of Volley they say that multi shot will now hit more targets, but how many I don’t know and I am unable to test that on the target dummy. Luckily I find that I use my AOE on trash mob clearing more than anywhere else so it’s not a huge issue for me.

Another down side at the moment is that I don't have any shots I can use in my normal rotation while I am moving. Aimed shot is completely changed from a, moderate damage, use on the move shot, to a HIGH damage, long cast shot. Eventually I will gain some shots to use on the move but those are coming with talents and shots PAST level 80.

The "Focus System" is not the disaster that I thought it would be. Unlike Rogues who need to build points for special attacks, the Hunters "Focus system" starts out with a full focus bar that can deplete quickly if you don’t follow a proper shot rotation. If you follow your shot rotation then there will never be a fight where you wont have your high DPS shots available as needed, assuming they are off cool down. It's clear that Blizzard put a HUGE amount of thought and effort into the new Hunter "Focus system".

It was odd to vender all my ammo, my honey mint tea and my elixirs of mighty thought and my bag are now so empty it’s not funny. More room for when I’m picking herbs I suppose so it’s all good

While not everything is peaches and cream for Hunters with these changes I'm starting to adjust and I see the changes as positive overall. In other words I'm ready to kick ass and chew bubblegum... And I'm all out of gum.

The Hunter I ran with last night said that Multi Shot was hitting all targets (i.e. - more Targets, More Arrows Fly), and that he was reasonably happy that the result was better than he had expected. He didn't think that the new Focus system was too limiting, either. Though I don't know how much haste he has on his gear, which would directly impact regeneration.
