Is it light pollution that creates a purple colour in the sky as mine typically are purpleish, or is that the sun not being quite gone yet? At this time of year I don't think the sun ever goes down 100%. Most of mine tend to be taken in town or near town though. Going camping soon so can't wait to take some more star pics. I'm going to bring a laptop this time so I can verify my pictures better. Last year most of my camping ones turned out blurry.

This one turned out cool, my house is one of those.
Lots of lens flair and stuff I'm guessing that's from various points of light hitting the lens at just the right angle. Won't be a problem when I go out camping.
It's interesting how the stars change position throughout the year though. Earlier I remember the big dipper being practically straight up, though it was also earlier at night whine I had checked. Would be interesting to take a 1 year time lapse of the stars, taking a pic at the same time of the night.
