Question: what do you guys prefer for image hosting? I'd like to start a little portfolio for fun, something with good browsing capabilities. Maybe I'll use this as an excuse to learn to build a website or something.

I prefer to just throw my stuff on Flickr. Are you looking for image hosting on your own domain type of setup?

I have a flickr, but have never been a huge fan of its interface. Granted, the last time I used it was 2012 or so but the few times I've checked it since it didn't seem to have changed much.

I am not entirely sure what I want -- I've seen some cool own domain setups on POTN forums and it seems like a cool way to archive the best photos from different trips or events and to share with people. Anyone here have this type of setup?

I used to use smugmug, but wasn't a big fan of it (you pay per month). I've been using jalbum recently, and so far, so good. You pay a one time fee. For both, you can host on your own website, or use their website. And it's easy to share galleries with others on both.

For non-gallery purpose, I prefer flickr.

Flickr is fine, it's a free terabyte, you can't argue with that. Otherwise 500px is pretty nice too.

Took the Olympus OM-D EM10 out for a hike today... I somehow had it in JPG only with some odd color profile. It still cleaned up respectably.

I've been a little Waterfall heavy this winter/spring, but California has been lacking in water the last few years so I'm taking advantage.

Flower looks good! Nice 'n' vibrant! You weren't even using a macro lens!

Right... if you were to trust the Internet, the 24-120 f/4 is a complete waste of glass and plastic. It is my absolute go to lens - while I'd love the 24-70 f/2.8, I also find going out to 120 to be super-duper-useful...

Really? I would love to have that lens! As you said it feels like it would be a really nice go-to lens. It's got a good focal range, decent (constant) max aperture with VR, and it's probably nowhere near as heavy! It's what I was trying to achieve by getting the 18-140 for my DX cameras.... but alas.

First bug I see this year, I thought the pic turned out neat especially for being taken with a phone. (Nexus 4)
