You don't need to be an AMD fanboy to want to stop any unproven FUD about their brand. The company is in enough trouble as it is. The only people who pay the price if AMD suffers another driver perception fiasco like they did in the past is consumers. Their GPU business is about the only thing going for the company so if people stop buying them because of rumors AMD then goes down the toilet faster.

Then we all get to enjoy $900 nvidia mid range single GPU's for eternity. Hooray...

However, there isn't unproven fud but third party, professional reviewers findings and even AMD has mentioned, "raising some alarms."

Raising alarms are good! It was good with 58XX series filtering alarms and good with this now because AMD products may improve.

I think we should ask Ryan Smith for a special examination of some of these posters' headsD:.

Mountains out of molehills.Waiting for other websites to test this issue.

In the meantime go enjoy your holidays and play some games.

And focus group members and shills should focus on what they are supposed to be focusing on and whose products they are supposed to be shilling for.....

But if this is true I hope AMD can get their crap together.

Happy holidays to all!!!!

The constructive aspect, it has reached the attention of AMD and has caused some alarms internally and investigating.

You guys are not fooling anyone with your so called quest for the truth. You enjoy kicking a company when it's down and will relish anything whether it's untrue and unproven or not to achieve that purpose which is kind of sad really.

Both of you don't use AMD hardware and never will.

I already said if proven to be true then AMD should work on it.This thread should be kept alive. It's quite amusing seeing green boys get their kicks. It must have hurt them that AMD has the faster hardware.Search your hearts guys, you know it to be true. You believe anything on the internets...lol.

More investigations are welcomed.

TechReport did just that!

Amd has offered a response.

Whether people enjoy it or not, does not change the issue. I get the feeling you rather have this kept under wraps or to not kick AMD when they're down. If anything, and im fairly certain i'm not alone here, it is posts like yours here that might make it somewhat enjoyable to some. Not enjoyable to see AMD faulter yet again.

You really need to learn to spell ...the word is 'falter'.

You posted somewhere some time ago that you would be glad to see AMD die because they hold back innovation in your words so don't tell me you're not enjoying trying to knock them of the GPU perch..What I don't understand is your obsession with sinking them.If they are so bad let them die their inevitable death.Convince readers why they should buy Nvidia by highlighting Nvidia's strengths and features... instead of crapping on the competition in your juvenile, condescending way ...that's your job,to focus on Nvidia.

If AMD is 'alarmed' then they should investigate...including why only a couple of sites are finding issues.

It's sad that you can't get over this "agenda" that you think people have to kill AMD by shedding light on their alleged faults. Keep attacking posters though, not sure when the rules changed to allow that...?

I have no ''AGENDA'' unlike a lot of people here.I call it as I see it.We'll see what investigations on other sites will turn up if they deem fit to investigate.

This thread sums up why I never/rarely post on Anandtech. Pages and pages of AMD vs. NVIDIA flaming that never goes anywhere.

Ryan has already said that the testing will happen one day. Several people (including myself) have voiced support for it.

What other genuinely on topic posts have been made? And no, psychoanalysis of the OP and his intentions (overt or otherwise) are not on topic.

Seriously, on many other forums this kind of pointless crap would have been modded to death early on...that is, if the thread were not closed outright.

Don't you all have better things to be doing than trying to engage in futile religious debates? I ask this without a shred of sarcasm, truly.

Know what is amazing is AMD offers internal alarms and yet posters offer above.

Just to be clear, AMD didn't say yes this is an issue...they pretty much said they would investigate also..which is a good thing.

Regarding you responding to NIGELG, he never said no one should investigate, just that until more sites investigate and come to the same conclusion, we should reserve judgement....so there is nothing "amazing" or surprising about what he posted.

If AMD is 'alarmed' then they should investigate..

The offical quote:

AMD spokesman Antal Tungler is on the ball and said that the review had "raised some alarms" internally at the company. AMD is investigating and hoped to have some answers for us "before the holiday."

Not sure why I can't multi quote properly right now. Anyways...

People crucified me for what I said on the last page. That's nice, but it doesn't somehow prove I'm an AMD shill. It does speak volumes to your stance on the subject though. I'm not saying that no further testing should be done. I welcome more testing because all we have right now is a handful of examples that laugh in the face of actual scientific testing.

Hard OCP's eyes: in the article he states on 3 separate occasions that the AMD cards are smoother then in the conclusion says Nvidia is smoother, Techreport's original article which defies all logic presented by their previous reviews that cover the 7950, a German video of far cry 3 that shows AMD actually being smoother than Nvidia, and Techreport's Skyrim example which to me only shows one hitch at 30 seconds and the rest is horrible screen tearing that is also apparent on the Nvidia side.

If you are all willing to declare this case closed based on that evidence then there definitely is no need for further testing because you do not care about the outcome. You have a very real bias that is stopping you from wanting to see reality. If further testing proves that nvidia and amd trade blows in the smoothness area on a game by game basis you will continue this charade and perpetuate a negative rumor further out of blind loyalty to a brand. You'll also be damned if you care one lick about AMD even if they are the only reason you get reasonable prices on GPU's because of their competition.

In the future instead of Price/performance ratio's we could just have price/price ratio's. Won't that just be special.

You sound like Yoda.....lol.
The offical quote:
Unless some other independent hardware sites can replicate these results this doesn't mean anything. It could be they are alarmed at the insinuations of all this campaigning to their bottom line...especially if it turns out to be smoke and mirrors.

Odly I have seen less "bad behaviour" in other threads getting people infractions...but now the mods are dead silent?

Fair enough that was there, but my point stands:

We need at least ONE thread where we can just let off steam :p

Who said they came to a conclusion?

Looks like this thread was started to get more review sites to investigate this issue, no?

I agree, the other thread (while very blunt) actually provided some evidence to show NV adaptive vsync is a joke, and it died a quick death.

Then the "are we biased" died pretty quickly.

Here we have the same level or possibly even worse behavior but it just stays open.

I don't care about the individual issues, but this is a bit odd.

Some seem to think that one review in one game that is not in keeping with past reviews isn't unproven FUD.
