He damn near ran over a cop when he tried to go around the road block. I think they are going to have an uphill battle at the very least.

Regardless, the shots that actually killed him were justified. He was given so many chances to surrender it isn't funny, said they would have to kill him, jumped out of the vehicle and started running around and then reached into his jacket. I'm pretty sure he had a gun in his jacket too but that's not relevant either. Simply reaching, especially given the above facts, is more then enough justification.

Frankly I'm still impressed by the restraint all LEO showed throughout the entire ordeal. The family was in a bind after the shooting started, I don't blame them for not knowing what to do and not wanting to get out of the vehicle for fear of getting shot. The only thing they might have done better was give the family a better opportunity to surrender but that's definitely some serious monday morning quarterbacking.
 
dude wanted to go out in a firefight with the cops. Probably ran the scenario through his mind about how his death would rise up all the whites and they would take over and grze cattle everywhere. What he should of done is practice getting his gun out of his lambskin coat instead he fumbled his one moment in life. Stay safe tarp ghost.

The fact that they didnt report them is the problem here. Firing them is to me less of a concern. You need to have accountability from law enforcement.

A second look at the video and I disagree with the second part of your statement - you hear "hang on" and at the same time see brake lights go on. Those brake lights stay on until the truck comes to a complete stop. A truck moving at 70MPH cannot stop on a dime...so I'm not convinced that he was running the road block - he would have had his foot on the accelerator if that were the case. And again - I'm not arguing about the shooting. Finicum reached for a gun which is a sure fire way to get shot. While I disagree with the BLM on a bunch of stuff (my gripes are with them in WA & the Mt Baker Natl Forest) I don't think occupying a refuge and destroying property is a proper action to take...

i see brake lights and no cop cars plowed into. just a snowbank. the cops shot the truck twice as he was slowing down. The cops in the tree line that came out and shot him was a classic military L ambush setup. why did they shoot the truck before it reached the blockade, he clearly was not accelerating.

The judge has ruled that no, the Bundys may not wear cowboy hats and cowboy boots in court and no, the court will not just dismiss all counts against Cox. One defendant showed up in a custom jury nullification sweatshirt. The judge reminded him that she had already ruled that arguments in favor of jury nullification were not going to be allowed. I suspect the guy will rack up a contempt charge by the end of the first week.
