Seriously, YOU should totally DUMP HIS AS$!!!

Yes, because a woman can't stay with a man that makes less money than her. That's just not the American way.

Or the Canadian way, I can vouch for that ;)

I plan to get one and know of at least one other person that is getting one, too.

This will be my first Nintendo system.

And to Buck: He would "ditch" me IF HE DIDN'T, LIVE IN MY HOUSE, DRIVE THE CAR I HELPED HIM BUY, COOK FOR HIM, CLEAN FOR HIM. Ask him about ALL that.

Maybe instead of giving him tips to "ditch" me, you guys should give him tips how to "please" me.

And now all you little dorks who sit at your computers all day as if it were REAL life (which, it's not) can sit here at shoot your mouths off. I DARE you to show it to any of the women in your lives. Oh, wait, you probly don't have the BALLS.

Holy sh$t!

Too many issues here to address! But I give you 10/10 for the best personal a$$ reaming rant I've read in a long time.

You guys obviously have some work to do on your relationship, hope it works out for you.

If gaming gets in the way, dump him. It isn't normal for someone in their 20's to game all the time (as in, no other hobbies, no real job, no friends, etc.) If you don't have a problem with him gaming, but it is more like a problem that it is all he does, then dump him. Some weeks I got with no gaming, but sometimes my best friend will come over and I'll play BF2 for 4 hours. It depends on how busy I am. I don't go to bars, etc. But then again, I help my wife, I am building her a 5000 sq. ft. house right now, and spend a lot of time with my daughter. For me, gaming takes the place of bars, TV, etc. I would much rather go wakeboarding and drive my boat with my family then game...

Also, I live in Alaska. There isn't a whole lot to do during the winter.

Put it this way, if his hobby was something other than gaming, such as water polo, would you be just as upset? It sounds to me like he passes on you for a hobby, regardless of what the hobby is.

On another note, will you marry me?

Poll makes no sense. How can someone who is 25 know which option to select, or someone who is 30? It needs to be

<18
18-21
22-25
26-30
31-39
40+

Your GF is wrong about gaming but she is right in that there is something wrong with you if you think the poll makes any sense as is :p

The bottom line is gaming is a hobby. The hobby, like all hobbies, is suitable with moderation. If your GF spends 10 hours a week at the bar, and you spend 10 hours gaming instead, fine. However, if every night you come home and play games for 3-4 hours before bed, and your girlfriend goes to bed horny and unsatisfied all the time, then it is an addiction and she has every right to be mad.

I agree, but I think unless you were born the 25 yeasr ago to the exact minute you took the poll, then you are >25 now, so pick 25-30.

My mom (mid-50's) plays Xbox, Cube, and PC. This includes games like Doom 3, Half-life 2, KotOR, and Ninja Gaiden.

I am 24 (25 way too soon) and play my 360 and old NES/SNES/Genesis games (I also play PC stuff like HL2, but I don't care to play online anymore).

My fiancee is 24 and plays 360, Xbox, Cube, PS2, and owns a LOT of NES titles (also plays NES/SNES/Genesis on our Xbox since some of our carts and old systems are going bad :(). Now she's looking into a DS Lite.

We both have full-time jobs and are definitely not shut-ins.

EDIT: Here are some more...

My brother-in-law, late 30's and a highly successful business man, has two kids and plays PS2 more than they do. My dad plays flight sims and the occasional sports game.

EDIT 2: Just read a few more pages. LOL. Either way, my situation still stands as normal.

You see, you're under the delusion that this poll actually matters a hill of beans to anyone and that precision and accuracy matters.

Yes, because a woman can't stay with a man that makes less money than her. That's just not the American way.

That doesnt look like its about the money, read her post before that one. That whole relationship just looks beyond hope. They are obviously forever and a day apart on life

We've heard one side. None of us know the full details. The post quoted was completely about money and her making more than him.

How many women do you know that will stay with a man that makes less money than her? A few... but not many. Now, how exactly does that attitude fit with a) women claiming men and women should be paid equally and b) women claiming that money doesn't matter when it comes to 'love'?

I personaly know a few. But as whole, its not many. Which means its doomed as of now, so by waste the time and effort. Ive read some articles recelty on some studies that have shown that have most men dont have a problem with a women who makes more money than they do anymore, but its now the women who cant be with a man who makes less than they do. It doesnt kinda blow a big hole in the "men are more superficial" argument though.

Alright, I guess that works as long as your birthday isn't in the next/last 24 hours and/or you assume it is based on the same time zone in which you were born.

Gaming is like any other hobby or passtime, absolutely nothing wrong with it unless it becomes an obssesion or detracts from meaningful activities.

Hmmm, true, time zones could confuse the issue, good point.

23, don't play as much as I used to, but I still play from time to time...especially if it's a good new game. I don't really have any regular games that I play all the time anymore.

Here's another thing... I've never really understood why people even start dating if they don't share the same interests and hobbies.

My fiancee and I (getting married July 14th) like the same movies, both play games sporadically (some months we'll become addicted, then at other times not touch another game for three or four weeks), both like the same sports and exercising, and etc. upon etc. Our biggest difference is that her taste in music sucks.

So tell me: why would two people that don't share their MAIN hobby still get together? There are millions of people with similar interests, no matter how weird you are. Why settle just because someone that isn't too ugly comes along at your loneliest time?

LOL, we know who wears the pants in this relationship. Nice rant. Although I sure hope you're not this bitchy under everyday circumstances, otherwise I could understand why he games all the time.

BTW, if you've got all that going for you and your BF relies on you so much while at the same time fails to satisfy you in the sack, why haven't you dumped him? Sounds to me like you two should move on to greener pastures. Of course, except for the bitchy part, his pasture sounds pretty green at the moment. ;)

You don't have to share the same hobbies to share similar interests. For example, I dated someone and we both liked doing the same things together, even if when alone we did different things.

Also, a lot of times we play crappy video games that are just entertaining enough to pass time when bored. If someone is so addicted to such crap that they can't stop playing when more interesting alternatives arise, they do have a problem.

Well, maybe I should've said "interests and/or hobbies." Either way, it just makes more sense.

There's quite a big difference though. You can have totally different hobbies and still like doing all kinds of things together. Video games tend to fall into the hobby category. In fact, I would go so far as to say it is preferable that you have a different hobby than your S.O. because that is the whole point of a hobby.
