Love the Olympics, have watched them all for as long as I can remember. Considering not watching the Rio games though. I feel for all the athletes that have trained their entire lives to make it to the Games only to have the scum running the IOC send them to Rio which is woefully unprepared for an event like this.

you are in fantasy land the Olympics are a huge world sporting event.

That over-2-second [juiced] world record swimming win in the [juiced] 400m medley by [juiced] Hungary's Katinka [juiced] Hosszu was [juiced] spectacular. 😵

While East Germany’s wrecking ball of a women’s team dominated for more than a decade through the 1970s and into the ’80s, the most devastating single event during which the East Germans defrauded the athletic process proved to be the 1976 Montreal Games. Not only were their cries from critics about the East German’s masculinity, but these cries were also turned into attacks on the victims, calling them sore losers.

One of the most vilified of the victims proved to be Shirley Babashoff, who went on to be tagged with the moniker, “Surly Shirley,” due to her loud complaints. Learning her lesson, Babashoff fell silent about the East Germans for three decades–until 2007.

ummm do women swimmers not have breast anymore? looking at pics of past Olympic swimmers they had breast...
I'd honestly be shocked if any swimmer in a medal event wasn't using PEDs. The only reason the Russians got caught is it was state sponsored. You can be pretty sure every single athlete making it past the qualification rounds are using some PEDs. The only sports it's not an issue in are things that rely more on skill or teamwork, not pure physicality, like archery, shooting, fencing, equestrian, etc.

I wasn't planning on watching it since I have the absolute bottom tier cable subscription - but, the NBC App on Apple TV isn't half bad - on demand just about anything including live streams of sports or channel coverage (including the ones I don't have like NBC Sports). I've been watching Rugby & soccer all day with pretty reasonable quality. Even better, it doesn't have the annoying announcers!

Summer Olympics arn't as exciting as winter I find, so I don't tend to watch them as much, but I probably will watch some of it here and there when I have nothing else to do. It's not something that happens often so it's something different to watch. I'm generally not that much into sports. Funny thing is last Olympics I told myself I should setup a TV in my office so I can watch while on the computer, and never ended up doing it.
