Are you going to watch Rio Olympic?

As much as I can. This is the only thing that makes me wish I had cable so I can flip between all those NBC-owned channels to watch various events I can't care less about when there is no Olympic games going. This time I'm stuck watching just the main NBC channel I get OTA.

I've always liked the winter Olympics more. Looking forward to the next ones being in a stable first world country, instead of somewhere like Russia or Canada.

Love the drama of sport that isn't the tiresome football/baseball. 🙂

Looking forward to the cycling events, BMX racing in particular.

Will watch as much as possible, especially cycling events.

Been at two Olympics in person, it's a very exciting and unique event. Too bad all the negative issues like politics, terrorism and doping are ruining them.

Same here. No cable here right now, so OTA and DVR FWIW. So, I'll miss a lot of the best stuff, undoubtedly.

Wonder if it's worth it to watch the opening/closing ceremonies.

I'll be watching this thread for VPN ideas. How much bandwidth do you need? I'm only getting a little over 5mbps DSL due to AT&T's crappy copper telephone lines.

Not likely. I've never been a fan of the summer games anyway...and this one just seems like it has DISASTER stamped all over it.

(besides, as we all know, the Olympics are all about corruption and graft for the IOC and host countries...not the athletics involved...that's just a side benefit)

I like watching the Triathlon, its usually pretty exciting throughout the entire race and its almost never a blow out, each discipline balances out the field and is a true iron man test.

Also the 100M final, who doesn't like to watch that.

No... I would have appreciated seeing the highlights but it appears that the rights-holder in my country won't allow anything other than stills to be shown on other networks. The government funded broadcaster got the rights this time... good to know my tax dollars support this.
