Anyone want to be my neighbor? $40k, updated with a pic

update: here's a pic of the house: here It's been unoccupied for a few months. A nice siding job, and it'd be quite a nice home. New roof, etc. I'd have taken more pics, but it's raining and cold. Very quiet neighborhood, except for the occasional naaaa-aaah of goats. 😛
=====

From what I've seen of the house, it's quite nice inside. The owners embezzled 10's of 1000's of dollars and invested it in their home. It's been prepped to be sided, but that's when the wife went to jail. 😛 3k in siding, and you've got a beautiful house, although the lot is kinda small for this area. Owners lost it due to foreclosure...realty listing; no pic yet

If anyone's serious, I could take a pile of pictures after I get back from the football game tonight.

Oh, and if you become my neighbor, you'll have to deal with MY chickens eating the bugs in your yard 😛 🙂

The house directly across the street from it recently sold for 89k, although that came with 6 acres. (Acreage in this area runs about 1k per acre up to 2k per acre.)

I would require more acreage, more than the crazy neighbor with chickens.

.75 acres is far to small. i am used to haveing a bunch. right now i am on 3 acres and it is kinda small heh

Buy it and rent it out.

If I could exchange that house with the other house I own and rent out, I'd do it in a heart beat.

Hey, someone could spend their pocket change and have a summer home next to 8000 acres of state forest land. Great recreational opportunities. The neighbors will let you pay them (me) $50 each to take my llamas for a walk (we call it backpacking for lazy granola sport people from the city)

If someone here bought it, my kids will mow your lawn twice a week for $20 each time 🙂

thats always what you want to read in a house description. I won't buy a mouse off of ebay if that tagline is added let alone a house

wait... $40 per week to mow .75 acres?
If thats the going rate, I'm in the wrong freaking business

$20 to mow .75 acres? wow what a rip off heh. around here i was paying the kids across the street $25 to mow 3 acres!

WOW thats literally in the middle of nowhere 6 hours from the city, 3 hours from binghamton, 2 hours from buffalo, 2 hours from rochester, 4 hours from toronto, 3 from cleveland, and 3 hours from syracuse.

40k now sounds pricey for the middle of nowhere!

Who has half a car?

Are you serious?
It isn't uncommon to have an extra half car. The extra half you can use for storage, workbench, etc.

And you can split the car with your neighbor, so you each get half. Just get the back half so you don't have to deal with the engine. Pay extra if you need to, you don't want to get saddled with it. A bonus if the back has cupholders and nice upholstery.

$40k? You serious? You can't get a house for less than $300,000 in the ghetto here in California.

wow are you really that ignorant. oh wait yes you are.

the .5 is not for a car (though it is useful if you have a full size truck or Suv) it is for storage etc.

1850, sounds like a great house to live in. I regret not buying the houses we looked at that were built in that era. I really prefer the personality of classic homes like that.
