EDIT: Nevermind, I got in and got shanked by a spy. My ping was also up over 150.

Haha it's not that, I just dislike being killed and not knowing where it came from. I remember now why I played for a while at launch and then gave up. I couldn't defend against spies and my skills were sorely lacking. I need to L2P.

EDIT: Also what are you guys getting for latency? I am in Maine and I go from 50-200 just by refreshing the server list.

I'm in Los Angeles and im in the 60-70's which isnt bad for being so far.

Weird, I am trying to disable all my programs and it's not making a difference.

Try demoman as it's really easy to get kills with it or pyro

What are some other good servers to try while this one is unpopulated? Most of the servers I see when I start the game have 0 people in them.

http://www.theville.org/ servers are usually fairly busy and they are well-moderated and have stats, etc...

Most of the other servers are usually only full in the evening but I play on Slaughterhouse (i.p.: 66.151.138.60 be warned this is an all-talk server) almost daily (time permitting) and I always have a good time. The Q-clan servers are also quite good.

If you are part of the AT Steam Friends group, it is usually pretty easy to find someone in-game on a decent server as well.

You should cut down the map rotation and keep like maybe 4 or 5 maps on rotation. Either that or add in a voting option. You should give admin privledges to regular players. That way they'll be more inclined to hop on your server and repopulate it during peak times.

That seemed to work in the q1 era .
