Are you this guy?

Not sure if you are f'ing with people here. Do you have anyone in your family or close friends who at risk? I do, my wife had emergency surgery several weeks ago and her immune system is not 100% and her 91 yo mother lives with us. We do everything we can to protect ourselves. Hope you don't have any relatives or friends that are at risk. Good luck.
When I was growing up we called people like him a prick!

the virus is not partisan you bleeding fool. What kind of jackass sits there and laughs at how he doesn't care about how viruses actually work and literally kill people, then defines those that care about it as partisan hacks?

the fucking hell is wrong with you?

and why are you constantly angry about the dumbest shit? lol, it's like you don't even care that we already know that those who refuse to wear masks pretty much exclusively track as conservatives, but you have decided that "it must be democrats"? the fuck is your deal? :D

Awwww....poor baby crying about "mean old people" who use "bad" words and hurt his feels. LOL!!!! Trying to give Trump as thinnest skinned idiot in the U.S?

I've always wondered why conservatives seem to be the thinnest skinned snowflakes in the solar system.

And after your displays of utter stupidity......which, of course, makes you utterly stupid.

I live in Jax and each time I go out I witness more people doing less to protect themselves from COVID-19. The mayor refuses to institute a mandatory face mask policy and the R's are reflecting this in their behavior.

They show little respect for social distancing and will ignore aisle directions in the stores so I monitor the cases per zip code and have moved to shopping in the outlying areas with the lowest rates to protect myself.

Everyone out shopping has their political affiliation on their sleeve? Strange.

I've noticed most people never paid much attention to the aisle direction markings in the first place. I don't think it's intentional. They are just oblivious.

I genuinely do not understand how a basis, common sense health measure like mask wearing became a partisan fight.

Trump doesn’t wear a mask because he’s mentally ill and his narcissism keeps him from wearing one. Why people want to imitate the behavior of a mentally ill person is beyond me.

Fox News has spent more than a decade turning everything into a partisan fight and filling the minds of Republicans with total insane garbage. I think Laura Ingraham is still to this day running segments about the liberal science conspiracy against hydroxycholorquine.

I recommend giving your money to stores that enforce mask-wearing, even if you are getting delivery or curbside. We can't count on fellow citizens to be smart so the next best thing is to shop at places that value the health of their employees and us.

Half this country wants to "oppose" things. It's a mindset. They are riled up and spoiling for a fight, for a culprit for their own problems. This works much to the favor of the ultra-rich, who laugh all the way to the bank while poor white rurals in places thousands of miles from Mexico gnash their teeth over illegal immigrants, for example. The last line of The Usual Suspects can be applied here.

If Obama or some other hated Democrat came out with "Celebration of the great blue sky" day, a bunch of righties would be out protesting that the sky isn't blue.

Then you add in the arrogance and "I'm special" that so many Americans call "patriotism". They think America is some shining beacon of light where things are SO DIFFERENT from the rest of the world, because we have "freedom". So the minute there is a call to conform on anything, it's "government control" and "they are taking away our freedoms." Meanwhile, when an actual assault on our freedom occurs--such as The Patriot Act--it's hum de hum, we have to give up nice things to be "secure". Certainly we ARE different in at least one sense, we have more guns than citizens and no other country is even in the ballpark...that's why we are so "secure" all the time!

These days you hear them quoting JFK like they think they understand him, but only ever as a dig at "lazy Millennials!" while gnashing their teeth and frothing over mask-wearing. except, they simply refuse to understand that this is exactly what the "what you can do for your country" part is all about.

They don't quite understand that country means people--you don't have a country without people. We all self-identify as collectively common in certain ways, and that single common identity is as citizens of this country. Conservatives don't have the capacity to empathize, which is why their "patriotism towards country!" is only ever tied to money and services. It never has anything to do with real people. In their mind, the only time people are involved in this country is when they are being stolen-from (evil taxes) or doing the stealing (the evil welfare queen--never the corporate interests). They worship ideas and symbols and have a failure to appreciate what any of that actually means, or how it comes to exist in the first place.

I guess it's good news that the blue states aren't seeing an increase in the number of cases, as this conclusively proves that liberal government is better than conservative.

I live in Florida, a red state with a Trump sycophant governor. Since the lifting of the lockdown our state case numbers have exploded.

HOWEVER - in my county (which voted blue), while the number of cases is up, the number of deaths and hospitalizations is not. We have had a total of 8 deaths and 54 hospitalizations (out of about 600 cases and 300,000 inhabitants)). There are currently about 10 cases hospitalized and the capacity is 95% available.

At least one of the reasons for this is the largest number of new cases are in young people. Our median age for new cases has dropped to 29 over the entire course of the epidemic. The younger cases aren't getting as sick and aren't requiring much hospitalization. It is my fervent hope that what IS happening is a rise in immunity % from them, working towards herd immunity.

Despite the lack of new hospitalizations or deaths, yesterday our county commissioners voted to mandate masks in public indoor spaces starting midnight June 25, with businesses required to post notices. I have been wearing one since the beginning so it's not a problem for me and I agree with the decision. I don't want to get it and I sure wouldn't want to infect anyone else if I had it.

This, too, shall pass.

Mask wearing is like holding the door for somebody with an armload of groceries. You just do it without thought, it's the right thing to do.

Coworkers in Gwinnett county Georgia report the exact opposite. Since last month I have been teasing them that they should write me into their wills and leave me their cool stuff when they die.

Packed breweries and restaurants. Very little attempts at social distancing. Constant parties and groups of kids roaming the street.

Well, I live in a "Purple" State with rising Covid infections since limited reopening began right before Memorial Day weekend. I actually thought we were doing a great job between March and June--we definitely flattened the curve from a steep incline to more of a plateau. But the data showed everything going to shit after Memorial Day weekend. I think it puts Cooper (who's up for re-election in November) in a tough spot since it would be political disaster to go back to lockdown. So he's likely committed to keeping the state in Phase 2 (will find out later today) but giving flexibility to local and county authorities to adopt stricter/looser measures as needed.

Of course, our Republican-led legislature still acts as if they have a supermajority, and they've tried to overturn EOs to allow bars and gyms to open, and are pushing for legislation that forces Cooper's hand on Fourth of July (fireworks shows, parades, etc.) and opening up water parks, amusement parks, carnivals etc.
