I'm not too sure what I'm looking forward to this next season. There are a couple that look interesting, but I see any must watches just yet.

Why do you use wiki lol? Use MyAnimeList. It's waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better :D

I said why I went there. Wikipedia lists the literal translations for anime titles, which is what I wanted.

Erased is pretty cool, its about 11 eps in at this point, a reasonably dark mystery tale..

I liked the beginning quite a bit, but episode 11 seemed like a bit too much of a waste of time. The final episode was fine I guess. I'm just glad
that he got to meet up with Airi-chan again!

GATE is meh.

I thought GATE was a lot better in the beginning, but it fell into the ecchi, harem trap. I mean... how can you screw up a humorous awkward situation anime when you have a lackadaisical guy in an alternate world? No, we'll just resort to a creepy demigoddess loli girl that orgasms when lots of people die around her and tries to rape guys that she likes. o_O

yeah i was thinking if GATE had too much for him there is a LOT of stuff out there that would scar him...

Why would you think that it would scar me? GATE's transition from a fun, out-of-his-element story into typical ecchi, fetish bullshit just makes me sad that they wasted something that had some sort of potential.

GATE was like Japan admitting that the only chance they'd have in fighting a war was if the enemies weaponry was literally from the 12th century.

Well, that's kinda understandable given we gutted their military potential after World War 2. :p

You should check out their development of a railgun plus laser point defence system ship that is supposed to be in service by 2020. The ship is. Dont thibk those advanced weapon systems will be ready then. But she ship is speced to take those systems.

My wife and I watched an anime film called 'Paprika' a while ago. That was certainly different and odd.

Ehhhh sorta, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Komatsu Ltd, and Sumitomo Heavy Industries, etc. While they do license some technology from the US, have in the last 2-3 decades really striven towards their own R&D and their own domestically produced tanks, jets, armored personnel carriers, etc.

They do tend to stick with US and NATO standards though so as to make sure their domestically produced equipment can play nice with everyone elses. And of course they are one of the countries also using AEGIS on their guided missile destroyers.

you misunderstand. it's not military tech i was joking about. (i'm well aware of how much of that they buy/are given from us)

Their military expenditure is ranked seventh worldwide.

Watching GATE and I really like it. I like that it's different concept than what I'm used to and it's sort of funny w/o being overly cute. The story seems like it might get pretty intricate too with the various competing interests. I'm only up to Ep. 5 but so far this was an excellent recommendation.

Gate falls flat later on.

Finished the series and I did enjoy it. I can see why you might love the first part and be less enthusiastic about the second half but I think it's mainly because of the change in orientation, which I thought was pretty much inevitable anyway. It was a little slower as well but still plenty of action.

I was a little curious about one thing. For a new series, is it based on old manga or something. Because all of the military hardware was really dated. For example, the fighter jets looked suspiciously like F-4s. The Chinooks I think are still in service but the single rotor copters looked like old Hueys.
