I don't like to watch online. But I did find a version of the series which I assume is the more recent one so I'll check that out. If it looks censored, I'll check out Kissanime. :)

PS plural of anime is still anime.

since language is constantly evolving and shifting, if we make a concerted effort to make animus the plural of anime, and it becomes widely used and recognized as meaning the plural of anime, then by all rights, animus would then be a "real" word and the language continues to evolve.

Happens all the time in english with tons of words

That's because we're in the early adopters phase, and besides, how did you know to tell him anime is still the plural of anime if you didn't know what he was trying to say? That tells me you already understood what he was trying to convey (and thus adds validity that it is in fact a word).

And i'm mostly just giving you shit about it cause I care to.

I think you'd be better off promoting animes rather than animus. The -us suffix is used for second declension nouns - it indicates singular nominative. So it's going to be a little confusing for anyone who knows some Latin.

I'm half joking but seriously, it threw me off when I saw it. I figured you meant the plural but then the ghost of my high school Latin teacher came to me . . . .

given that animus is a latin word in common usage,
noun
1.
strong dislike or enmity; hostile attitude; animosity.
2.
purpose; intention; animating spirit.
3.
(in the psychology of C. G. Jung) the masculine principle, especially as present in women (contrasted with anima ).
since it was already co-opted by Jung, a second perversion into a plural of anime is unlikely.

I always thought that people used "animu" as just a silly, made-up, Internet-based term... sort of like saying "cray-cray" or "jelly".

Given the amount of opai involved, I suggest use animoo :awe:

I checked out Berserk. I'm sure it's good but the superficial stuff tends to be an issue for me and it looked really dated. I don't mean that as a put down or anything, it's just that its style of artwork is so clearly from that time period. Maybe a bit earlier.

It's weird though because I still think things like Cowboy Beebop and some other stuff from the 90's looks fine. So I think it's just one particular "school" of anime that I have an issue with.

Anyway, from there I moved on to Guilty Crown. I wasn't sure I was going to like it from the first episode but it got interesting pretty quickly after that. The "science" is nonsense but that's just an observation. I mention it because I can never tell what others consider believable.

It seems to be a fairly unique concept. I mean, ok, the general idea isn't new - building on innate abilities - but the execution is unique, at least compared to anything else I've seen. And so far it hasn't been at all predictable but I'm watching more passively than actively so I can't be sure.

Up to ep. 5 and I think I'm going to stick with it so thank you. :)

Outdated? Sure but the story and action are really A+ quality. Keep watching, it will get better I promise! If you do plan on dropping the series I HIGHLY recommend reading the Manga. The Manga is pretty much insane not to read.

I'm glad you like GC. ():)

Have you seen Terraformers yet lol.
