wait wait wait, how long did it take you to realize this? D: :p

I realized it long ago, but the filler to canon ratio was never as bad as it is now. When the manga it's based on is 100% finished. It's the worst it has ever been in a time when they no longer have an excuse for the excess padding.

technically they have a reason, its just one that wont matter to anyone outside of japan. there are key weeks during the seasons in japan, just like sweeps in usa. i dont know how many canon episodes are left but chances are the finale would have fell during the weeks that wouldnt benefit the sponsor/broadcaster. ratings are a factor just like in the usa, so fillers are used not just to avoid overtaking a manga but to space out the dramatic peaks to coincide with special dates.

Haikyu timed their tournament climax for just before new year vacations/holiday in order to hit 2nd place in the manga ratings.

The list you post. I have seen Charlotte and Barakmon. Naru is tooo cuteeee! Not the best story but it has good comedy and loads of cutey scenes. ():) I WANT S2 NAOWWWWW!!!!

Charlotte is alright. The story is your typical time leap plot.
Main guy should of died but he didn't but instead he lost his memory
I rate 10/10 for animation cuz it was the best in 2015 imo.

tell me your trolling lmao ''but the filler to canon ratio was never as bad as it is now''
I REMEMBER WATCHING A CANNON EPISODE IN JAN 2015 AND THEN IT WENT TO FILLERS IN MID JAN and now its 2016 and still fillers... GG 2015 was the worst the ratio was like 1month of cannon and 11month of fillers. Disgusting.

edit - nvm misread your comment. Yh the fillers are insane. The milking is real in Naruto. We all now the ending, but yet they still milking the udders.

Agreed on both points.
I feel bad that I actually get most of the references in Oreimo and Nogizaka though, eg. the Shana "urusai!", various OP-EDs playing in the background, the guy praying for sequels to Maria and Index, the maids dressing up as Index, Acccel World and SAO characters, etc. :S

Finally got around to attack on titan. The main character is the absolute worst, most whiny person for the first few episodes but it gets better. I personally like the animation style, and titan fights are cool. Waiting for season 2 now. The theme for the first half of the season is great too. I don't think they're headed towards fanservice, but they've got a loophole so we'll see.

I also tried cowboy bebop, and despite what I've heard it just didn't hook me. Most anime I can struggle through at least two episodes, but I barley made it through episode one. It's pacing was slow, the art/animation style was too faded/slow for my tastes. The dub may have also been lackluster. I may revisit it, but I'm not sure.

Since I'm now waiting on season 2 of two anime (One Punch and AoT) what do you guys recommend? I'll be checking out ghost in the shell since that's been recommended, but always good to have options. For reference, I've seen One Punch, AoT, and FMA: brotherhood all the way through. I liked the art style of all 3.

Hunter x Hunter was good.

I just watched One Punch Man and found it entertaining. The the action was great and the comedy in it was perfect.

AoT follows the standard anime formula of bigger and badder as it progresses in the first season. It also follows a fairly standard formula of having good guys attain some of the power of their opponents. A walled or isolated enclave of humans is another common theme. So it's solidly in the anime tradition.

What I like about it is that they tease out the mystery of the origins of the titans and when they finally reveal a piece of the puzzle, it seems to make the story better rather than leave you disappointed. I also really like the style.

Cowboy Beebop probably seems a little dated since it's almost 20 years old but personally I think it's still very watchable. If you've only seen newer anime, I can see that the style might be a little irritating, but it's a true classic for a reason. I'd try to power through a few more episodes before you give up.

One of my favorite animes is Speedgrapher - but it's really some off the wall stuff and very, very graphic. Another is Death Note, but mostly for the first season. The second felt too much like a reboot and wasn't nearly as well done, at least in my opinion.

The original Ghost in the Shell is excellent. The subsequent series and movies are ok but come no where near the first.

I guess everyone has their tastes, but I would strongly recommend you make it through episode 5. If it doesn't hook you after that, it's not going to. The art/animation in Bebop is pretty timeless to me, but it's 90s cell animation, so that's what it's going to look like.

It's a pretty universally loved show, and for good reason. It also has one of the gold standard dubs ever made, and also one of the best anime soundtracks ever made.

I like the first GitS movie because of how groundbreaking it was, and I find it really enjoyable, but SAC pretty much blows it away in my opinion.

I'd recommend battling through Bebop. It gets really good.

Cowboy Bebop is probably one of the very few anime I would watch with an English dub.

I dont think it needs more nudity. The point is the dirty thoughts.

Personal taste I suppose. There are 3 different versions, the TV release which is semi-uncensored (but still censored and I think also depends on the Locale it aired in HOW censored it is), the web release which is the most censored, and then the bluray which is fully uncensored.

Yahari Ore is fine, but the second season was just... meh. The characters had some of their own unique charm to them in the beginning, but it felt like they just lost it and became so dark and depressing. I mean... it was so depressing that the ever-cheerful Yui didn't even make things more lively!

Watching death note now. Holy crap most TV shows don't stress me out but there was a scene where kira is talking to someone and a police officer walks by. I won't say what happens but man, leading up to it I think I was holding my breath. :D

I finished Death Note and...

I'm not sure how I feel about it. Maybe it's just that I've finished a series I enjoyed, but it feels depressing.
:(

Spoiler for more than death note, kinda breaking bad too:
I mean, they kill L (I missed that guy for the rest of the series) and then Light's crazy girlfriend (misa misa?) is an idiot, but she had huge skill before she met light. Now she's got nothing. The other (smart) girlfriend dies, and M dies too. The CIA agent's fiancé dies, and should have done more. Then light dies with no affair or anything, that's just it for him. Kinda like how breaking bad ends. I wasn't rooting for Kira, but him dying quietly just seems wrong. I guess that means it's a good story if it ends on a depressing note but isn't dumb or written poorly.

Death Note was kind of a let down after L dies. It picks up 4 years later and Kira's new world order is in place. I have not read the manga so I do not know if it follows it. I also liked the live action movies. Kind of the same but different at the same time.

If L did not die
then what did you think would of happened? The outcome would be the same. People that never seen Anime tend to watch Death Note first. I have no idea why cuz Death Note is a bad starting Anime for newcomers imo.
