Well it's almost four years old...came original with my velocity micro rig. That's the longest I've ever held a video card but it is one of with the greatest longevity I've owned. Newegg had got a deal on a few of these that give you Far Cry 3 for free. I might not be able to resist that.

Lots of people still waiting for Skyrim to go cheaper than $29.99 - which it hasn't yet as far I know

Picked up Borderlands 2. Pleasantly surprised my ancient ATI 5870 handled it pretty well. Now i got the urge to replace it with 7870.

I'm playing Skyrim (1680x1850) on an HD 4850, 512 MB (and a E6600 no OC) with nary a hiccup.

Yeah its a let down for sure, worst one i can remember anyways.

I usually purchase 10-20 games during the sale and so far have only purchased 2.

But it aint over yet.

Ive bought NS2 for a friend for $9.99. I picked up Max Payne 3 for $15, Deus Ex for $5, Portal 2 for $5. Not bad. Hoping for FC3 to go on sale.

I budged more during the Thanksgiving sales. But part of it is that my backlog is already huge, and the fact is as time goes on I will likely see many of these titles for the same or even cheaper - especially very conservative sales such as on Dishonored and XCOM which still are always ~$30+. And they aren't offering FarCry 3 sales. I know one day I'll see all these games on Steam for $14.99 or less very soon, possibly Summer 2013 or Thanksgiving... or next XMAS at the latest.

well... all the sales are like this

1) some games dont repeat in every sale (a few)
2) some games repeat in every sale
3) NEW games come on sale for the 1st time, or for the 1st time with a good discount

but as you have more and more games you become interested only in 3)... and maybe in some of the games in 1) if you didnt get them before...

It depends on what is in the 3) category :p and there have been a lot of games coming out just a couple weeks before the sale so there havent been deep discounts on those ones...
Far Cry 3, AC3, XCOM, Dishonored and Hitman have been at 50% which is reasonable.

What i do think is that this xmas the real sales have been elsewhere... amazon, greenmangaming, gamersgate...

I picked up Darksiders franchise from amazon (yeah, steam a couple days later made the same deal, but i wonder if that was because of the amazon one. And on the 25 i could have gotten it even cheaper with that +$5 THQ promo), i picked up the super bethesda gamersgate sale and sleeping dogs in greenmangaming at 12usd (+ $6 GMG credits)

Been a big "meh" for me too, but that's probably because I just don't really care. There's a few games I want that have gone on sale (Hotline Miami, for instance), but I have WAY too many games in my backlog to justify spending even $5 on new ones.

Missed a few days that had games I had interest in. Overall haven't seen many good deals that I come to expect from Steam Sales.

First Steam sale that i've bought 0 games on.

But it's not over yet I hope.

I've only grabbed one game, SR3. And it's not because I own hundreds of games from past sales. I'm just very picky now with what games I spend my money on.

I stated this in the other, official thread:

That's because of saturation. I'm not getting much myself, but that's because I've already bought everything...

I stopped buying every game in existence about a year and a half ago. Big sales contributed to that. Now, I only buy what I know I'll play. But, I'll also happily pay $5 for some of those bigger release games, but some of those games have been slower to fall in price than they have in the past.

Everything decent I already have. The few things I want haven't shown up cheap enough. Wanted Anno, but it was not cheap enough imo. There have been some good games on sale, but we all already own them and they've all been on good sales before.

Have they put Far Cry 3 on sale ? I would think that would sell fast for a 50% off deal.

Since I can't record any games on my computer, I've been avoiding getting anything.
However, every day that I've looked, I've seen at least 1 game I'd get.

Yeah pretty crap. Way too many -50% deals.

The only game I got was The Walking Dead (which is awesome by the way)

If you get a 660Ti you can turn on physX effects, well worth it IMHO-

I would like assassins creed revelations, otherwise all the other games I wanted has already been on sale this year.

Sales are ok but really repetitive. Would be nice to see some real deals i.e. 90% off, even for just an hour. But overall its not too bad.
