Nope. I've spent more this year than any other. My backlog of games keeps on a growing...

It seems a bit less impressive than the summer one. And I spent more than I wanted to. On good deals. Go figure.

That's pretty dumb. By the time you clear your backlog, you will end up with the games you haven't played being available for cheaper than the sale prices... if they weren't already elsewhere.

But congratulations on falling for the false economy of the sale.

Sort of agree. But I think more likely is that I just have too many games backlogged now anyway. I did pick up Witcher 2 and Metro 2033 for good prices, but if I recall, that was earlier, not the Christmas sale.

Totally depends on what games you like and what you don't have already. Would've been awesome deals if i didn't already have some of those listed. c'mon, $13 for SF 4 complete..that game has been $40 without the DLC's forever and a day. Last week it was $20 and i grabbed it, 2 days later it was almost half that with the DLC's to boot.

Well, I think they're actually doing it right this year. They're limiting selection on the sale each day, and not going overboard with the sales.

The problem is pretty much everything that goes on deep discounts everybody already has from previous sales. So other than a handful of AAA titles that just recently got released that WON'T get put on sale for any meaningful discount, the sales look craptastic by comparison.

That said, I'm also finding that Amazon, GamersGate and other sites seem to be putting up better sales/prices than steam is currently. And the funny thing is, I'm limiting myself to ONLY titles with steam keys.

Its not that it sucks, it's that you already own most of what you want and the "newest" stuff isn't 75% off (or is close, but doesn't come under $10 because it's base price is still $50 or so).

My problem? Every Steam and Summer sale over the past several years has emptied my wallet. Now I own a lot of the games that are on sale lol.

I think with all the steam sales this year, I only got 1 game. The rest have been from Amazon, since they offered better deals.

I feel this is their weakest sale they've had in memory. My reason is simply due to the percentage of the price. In many cases games that are having dailies/flash deals aren't as cheap as Steam themselves has had them before. Also it seems 66% off is becoming more common instead of the normal 75% off. I don't care if they are repeating sales as they always have, that doesn't make the sale bad just because I own 90% of what goes on sale, I can still appreciate a good deal even if I have no interest in it.

I bought both Star Wars KOTOR-1 and KOTOR-2 for $2.49 each last night. I don't know when I'll get around to playing them since I also recently bought Skyrim and I have other games to play, but I've always been intrigued since people seem to think that KOTOR is a legendary game and I enjoyed Baldur's Gate 2.

Thing is I want to play them now. The DLC's I will save for later.

I agree with OP...although like others, it's probably more a case of buying everything I wanted during previous sales...

No, GOG had plenty of good deals.
Which is to say I dont feel bad so long as SOMEONE has a good sale.

I'm just bummed I missed the Anno 2070 sale. It looks like the best strategy game to come out recently other than Starcraft 2

I'd love to have Anno 2070 on steam and think that's not even close to a good sale on it. I hope it won't take Anno 2100 to get it cheaper.

I don't think it sucked so much as that they've had so many sales that most people have already bought most of the games they are interested in that can be put on sale. I don't see this as an inherently bad thing, but it does make the sales boring.

Picked up Borderlands 2. Pleasantly surprised my ancient ATI 5870 handled it pretty well. Now i got the urge to replace it with 7870.

Bro... ancient? Just replaced my 4890 with a 660. I'm betting you could have "survived" a bit longer on the venerable 5xxx ;)
