Posting from a new S10-2 right now. For $300, it meets my expectations of a netbook: small, cheap, light, good battery life (3.5hrs max CPU/brightness/wifi, 7 1/2 on low CPU/brightness/wifi off), and capable of basic computing tasks. If you are complaining about things like small screen size, or not enough processing power to run high end games/HD video, you don't understand the niche a netbook is meant to fill.
I was interested in getting a netbook since the eee PC line came out. I have a desktop, and had many laptops over the years, but all I really need for portable computing is a light netbook I can stuff in my backpack and use at libraries, coffee shops, outside in a park, etc. I think computer manufacturers are finally hitting the sweet spot when it comes to producing useful computers than nearly everyone can afford.
Again, netbooks are limited, no doubt, but all computers are limited by different factors, and determining which type of computer is best for you depends on your personal preferences and requirements. I'm not "over netbooks" as if it were some sort of fad that was catching on (though popularity is definitely skyrocketing). I have always used whatever technology works best for my needs. Tech pragmatism: use what works for you.
