I have an Eee 900 (8.9, 900mhz celly, 2GB DDR2 667, 4GB SSD, Stripped my own version of XP) and it is the most amazing thing EVER!

I also have a Thinkpad T61 (15.4, Core2 T7500 (2.2ghz, 4mb L2!!!), 2GB DDR2 667, 120GB slow as shit HDD) which is very powerful, but too damn big to commute with.

My netbook lets me do work almost anywhere. It has the power to do everything school and work related, and forces me to play old games from my past if I was to mess with is. Castle of the Winds 2 FTW.

OVER them? I never got INTO them. They always seemed like a waste of technology to me.

The keyboards are WAY too small for my big hands, the screen is way too small for my bad eyes.

By the same token, I never got having a phone that plays music videos. Screen is too dammed tiny to see any real detail. Same with watching any kind of video on one.

My dad has an EEE 901...
Its a cool idea... and I could even get used to the small keyboard...
But the LCD is practically unusable. I dont remember what the resolution is, but to use Windows, I want a minimum resolution of 1280x1024. I use my laptop at 1920x1200. My desktops I use at 1600x1200. I don't care if its a small 9" screen, I want a decent resolution.

trust me, you will not be lugging an 18" laptop around many places. i know. i have one. i thought it wouldn't be a big deal, but in alot of cases where i would want to take my laptop i think to myself naaah not worth the hassle. i think a 13-15" laptop is perfect for traveling.

Well I'm not an Apple fan boy, but I love my Touch and my iPhone more than anything except maybe my desktop. I listen to music and play Field Runner and a host of other games on my Touch all day. If they make a 10" version of Field Runner I won't be able to resist. I was joking about the camping out part. But I will get one the day it launches. Apple put some sort of mind control chip in the iPhone. Because after having one for about 15 minutes I was already an Apple Clone. a 10" version would likely have a more powerful mind control chip in it. The fact I've already made my mind up about buying a device that's nothing more than a rumor is crazy lol.

As for the Lenovo Ideapad I've never heard about it, but as for who would pay that much more $$$ for the Apple one. 2 letters UI. My Touch has a perfect UI, I imagine a 10" version being faster and more cool. And Multitouch on a 10" screen sounds uber. Since I'm not totally under Apples spell, I will look into this Ideapad you mentioned and see what it's about.

*EDIT* ok I looked at it and it's a regular netbook, while it looks nice. I want a tablet, so it looks like Apple will be getting my cash.

I used my MSI Wind for a while, put Windows 7 on it, and upgraded the RAM.

It is still the computer I allow guest to use to check email and such.

Umm, though similar to the iPhone 3GS commercials, those commercials are for iPhone OS 3.0, which runs on the 2G also. The original iPhone with iPhone OS 3.0 CAN Copy/Paste.

OTOH, the iPod Touch requires you to buy iPhone OS 3.0, so it's not available to all iTouch users like it is to all iPhone users.
