It was in relation to Clemens being so forgiving. Forgiveness is supposed to be practiced by those wishing to go to heaven. With all the forgiving Clemens has done, it seems like he's got a ticket already.

You're combining two different things.

If he doesn't testify willingly, he eventually gets subpoenaed.

You "plead the fifth" to get out of questions that may incriminate yourself, not to get out of testifying completely.

And even then, since it isn't a criminal trial, I don't even know if it applies. I don't believe he's forced to answer, so all he'd have to say no comment.

You never have to answer anything ever and the worst you face is contempt of court charge.

Virginia Foxx is the biggest Clemens apologist I've ever seen. At this point, there are too many witnesses that corroborate McNamee's story that I find Clemens' denials hard to believe.

The holes in McNamee's statements and credibility as a whole are much more glaring IMO.

I forget the exact details, but someone said if there was anyone that would know if Roger was at the party at Canseco's house, it'd be his former nanny.

The Committee requested on a Friday night to get the contact information about the nanny. They requested once or twice again and finally got the contact information on Monday.

They only got the information after Clemens had personally met with her and talked about the situation.

On top of that, when the nanny was interviewed, she not only placed Clemens at the party, but said she, his wife, and the kids had stayed over a night.

Clemens and his lawyers were squirming like worms during the entire thing and also as to why it took them so long to get them the contact information and why Roger had personally met with the nanny. Also that it gives the impression of tampering with a witness.
