Clemens and Bonds perjured themselves? About doing 'roids or HGH? Who really cares and who thinks they should even be speaking in front of our Congress about this in the first place?

We have a past President who perjured himself when he said he didn't get blown under a White House desk (yes, I reworded it) so why should these guys be subjected to any more punishment than him? :p

Of course there's a different tone here than if we were talking about Bonds. We don't know that Clemens perjured himself, regardless of what anyone's personal opinion may be. We know that Bonds did. McNamee is obviously scum. He has been convicted of lying before. This is far from a sure thing.

Me too. Drugs in sports are just one or two steps away from terrorism! ;)

Break time.

I think so far McNamee came across much worse than Clemens.
There are a few points Clemens couldn't wriggle out of, but McNamee looks like a complete scumbag.

You're combining two different things.

If he doesn't testify willingly, he eventually gets subpoenaed.

You "plead the fifth" to get out of questions that may incriminate yourself, not to get out of testifying completely.

And even then, since it isn't a criminal trial, I don't even know if it applies. I don't believe he's forced to answer, so all he'd have to say no comment.

If it can be proven which one is lying.
Looks doubtful that convincing proof exists.

You mean the one championship team Roger was on (2000, they would have wiped the floor with the Mets w/o Clemens anyway)?

Pettitte supposedly used in 2002.

So much for that idea.

We don't know that Clemens used steroids, and there are no allegations that Pettitte did. He used HGH, which is not anabolic steorids, to speed up recovery from an injury.
