.30-06.
it's a significantly longer action than the .308, with significantly more powder. bullet dimensions are pretty much the same.
i dont know versus .270, but hey, at least it eliminates 1 round.
For the money it is hard to beat the Savages. They are accurate, dependable and affordable.

I believe the .270 is flatter shooting than the 30.06. Atleast thats what I always believed.
