That's a loaded question. If there were an objective answer, then it wouldn't be a GOP policy. It would be an everyone policy. I think it's more important to look at values/principles.
It isn't loaded at all. A policy is either beneficial to the nation as a whole or it isn't. If part of a policy is beneficial and another part is detrimental, then it really isn't one policy but two.

Now, of course with any policy there may be winners and losers when we look at individual people. A person who supports a policy that is detrimental overall but beneficial to themselves (or objects to a policy that is beneficial overall but detrimental to themselves) should flat out admit they support (or object to) the policy for selfish reasons. Instead, conservatives try to sell their policies as beneficial to all and anyone who opposes are the actual anti-patriots.

Dems need votes from the disengaged. You can insult them certainly. Why don't you try that and see how many votes that gets you?

There's an old saying "Perception is reality. Change the perception and you change the reality". Or you can call people simpletons and they walk away with "what the hell is wrong with that guy" as your result. If these people aren't good enough for your party to benefit then let them stay home. Yeah that will learn 'em.

You'd think even a simpleton could figure out that the party in charge is stripping away their health care, education, and worker's rights.

Maybe they think that's worth it to stick it to the libtards.

One thing to look at is how much more progressive the Democratic party is becoming. This is perhaps a time where moderate and establishment Democrats could overtake radical right-wingers, but the response isn't stand pat and reap the rewards of a tanking right. Democrats are becoming more polarized as well.
Centrism and compromise got us the repeal of Glass-Steagall and NAFTA. And then when it all blew up, it was Clinton's fault. No thanks.

No, YOU need Democrats to get votes so they can save you and everyone else from their poor decisions. Democrats don't need anything except to sit back and watch the world burn.

The self styled rugged individualists of the right wing don't need any of that. Well, not in their own heads, anyway. They don't understand that economic freedom for the financial elite & for the general public are oppositional. When they're free to automate, offshore & farm it out to the lowest bidder the rest of us are free to bend over or starve.

They own & you don't, so STFU & pay the goddamned rent. If you can't manage that, just fuck off & die.

The point is when we get to the level of GOP vs Dem policy we are talking about things that are subjective and usually with low certainty. If there was a policy that was clearly good all-around with no uncertainty, it would belong only to one party.

I'm not saying what's good or bad. I'm just noting that it is discordant with some of the logic posted in this thread.

...
This is not true. There is plenty of evidence that Keynesian economic theory is correct yet the GOP clings to trickle down. Same for climate change. Same for abortion. Those are just 3 broad policy positions off the top of my head.

Just one more way to add to the long list of ways you are better than me.

If that's how you see it then fine, not that it changes anything. Either Dems get out the vote or not. Trump might be removed or consolidate power further. You can choose not to decide but you'll still have made a choice. Just GTF out of the way of the people resisting.

Haha I'm not in anybody's way. I'm just one frog in a pot laughing at all the other frogs trying to get out. We told all the frogs that we should do everything we can to prevent us all from falling in the pot back when we had a choice. Now it's too late and all the frogs that didn't listen now want to blame the ones that warned them. I'm getting sleepy. Time for a nap.

Tennessee one of the most corrupt states in the unions only saying is SUCKERS!

Must be. After all the damn state is overrun with liberals.

You may want to look at the number of NYS officials that have been convicted of corruption related offenses in the last say, ten years. The list is truly astounding and that's not even counting the current governor who should also probably be in prison.

I think Dank hit his head while watching hainity and is stuck in autoplay mode.

And honestly I can't tell if she/he/it is being sarcastic or not.

Haha, it was a joke. Hay makes it too easy sometimes. I mean my whole theme the last few days has been that he has an unconscious need to believe that Democrats are almost as bad as Republicans, so with that in mind the line was a zinger. But I guess if I have to explain it it wasn't as great as I thought it was.

Anyway I really don't care all that much how corrupt NY is. I have no doubt it is very corrupt.

I think his worldview caved in on him when Trump won. Truth be told I should be better than I am and be more charitable, but abject hatred to the point of delighting in harm is difficult for me to let pass. I can't always find a balance.

We have to deal with his demons occasionally. He must breathe, eat and sleep with them dogging his heels until something changes.

Hey guy, you're the one complaining every day what a crisis we find ourselves in.

We are, but you delight in it, which is tragic. Hopefully one day your suffering will lessen but not if you embrace it as if it were a beloved child. That is for you to decide.
