Like I said, my services are here for compensation. Let me know what you need.

There's going to be a Tribes 2 server?!?

Otherwise I'll have to learn to play BF1942

PLEASE tell me it will run XK1

XK1 needs another large server really bad...

hey Narzy, with the money we've gotten so far why you put in a poll of which items we can choose from (or just ask a good computer/server person which would be the best) and then send the money to the people to pay for like half of the shipping of the parts? it would get some things going

Have you tried seeing if Anandtech.com's staff would be willing to help? With their expertise, this could run a lot smoother and I'm sure AT has access to enough P3's to cover a few servers.

I have an idea that may or may not work. Everyone has a lot of parts to donate and some of it is useful and some of it is slightly less useful. We all want a nice, fast server so maybe what narzy could do is collect all the hardware everyone is willing to donate and then auction it off on epopularauctionsite and then with the proceeds buy some really nice equipment in FS/FT or hot deals or wherever. I think if people donate enough parts, no matter how old or slow, a good little bit of revenue could be generated for the gaming server. Just a thought though

Hey narzy, would it be better for me to donate that Celeron 466 PGA CPU or cash instead? I can kind of visualize a whole mishmash of useless parts and no side cash to put it all together. That would sux0r.

There are good deals at Fry's on a Socket A CPU/Mobo combo as well as some Mushkin 2100.

I have a few crappy AGP cards that would be great just for viewing and non-3d purposes. Great for a game server. LMK if you want them. Also, I have a SocketA Mobo AND processor that's been giving me never ending problems and stablility issues. If you'd like them to try and fix whatever problem there is, LMK. I could send both.

I think I've read all the parts, but have you contacted someone in the staff of Anandtech.com? It would be really nice if they would donate any old parts they won't need any more, because I'm sure they still have some old P3's and Celerons from older reviews.

I don't have a case to donate, but I know where some nice 4U's are for 50 each, with ps, floppy, cdrom. Beefy cast aluminum locking front door.

So will you guys need the U160 drive?

Also, BF1942 is not going to work well on an 800MHz P3 (for dedicated hosting).

Let me know.
