While single cases like this don't have anything more than emotional contribution, it is also quite demonstrable that more guns means more gun violence.

theres a new th8ing going around thanks to libs/prgressives

bail should not be set too high, as it doesnt allow the poor to post bail.

yes this is a thing

Why should the poor rot in prison if they cant afford bail? Remember again innocent before proven guilty in a court of law. And bail is/was only for threat of flight or a threat to community. Bail was started in the late 1700s when the threat of flight was easy and you could disappear very easily. Now nope.

This has nothing to do with libs or progs as you like to link to with every damn subject its about the rule of law.

I suggest you do some research before put words to the screen.

actually bail should be dependent on the crime, not the person or thier means

if joe well off and gets busted for smoking pot he may get a high bail
yet bill living in his moms basement with no job gets very low bail

why does a person means have to be factored into it?

It's simply a matter of asking the question "What is the risk that this person will not return for their court date?" Simple question. Don't even bring someones takehome pay into the equation.

If someone can't even get a half-decent lawyer - and they are historically known for crimes, I would put them at a much higher probability that they won't show.

It's quite easy to no-show to a court hearing.

Wild west.

"Wild Wild West" was a television series, later made into a movie, starring will Smith, Kevin Kline, and Penelope Cruz.

Series was way better.

The west was tamed by the railroad. We are trying to limit solving problems with shootouts, not promote it.

Which brought hard men with guns.
Had it just brought "civilized" urban folks they would have been terrorized by bandits and the west would never have gotten settled and grown.
