It's Texas....wouldn't be surprised if charges were dropped. I will say that I wouldn't be in the face of two assholes with guns stirring them up even more though....seems like a call to the police would have been better. Shrug....just another tithe for the day.

You know even the folks back in the day of the wild wild west figured it out that guns and civilization don't mix.

in other news from chicago

September to Date
Shot & Killed: 26
Shot & Wounded: 133
Total Shot: 159
Total Homicides: 29

And you know you keep listing chicago's deaths because you all watch the same news but there cities with higher death rates if you just looked.

Wild west.

"Wild Wild West" was a television series, later made into a movie, starring will Smith, Kevin Kline, and Penelope Cruz.

Dear fucking god what redneck bullshittery is this.

Of all things though - I'm not BLAMING them - But if someone pulls a gun based on where I want to dump a mattress...FUCK IT. It's not worth life threats - I'd apologize, take the mattress back and dump it somewhere else. Why do people have to beat their chest and behave like apes?

Just do a fucking risk assessment instead of worrying about your ego... Hmmm, should I continue this conflict involving guns over where to throw something away? If it takes you more than 2 seconds to answer that question, you're dumb and egotistical.

Precisely.

Expletive filled shouting at the guys with guns, a few feet from their faces, saying "POINT IT AT ME" over and over.
That's a Darwin award right there. (Yes they should be charged with murder)

See, we really are just apes. If we have the option to pull a trigger to "resolve" a conflict... sooner or later that option is used. We get heated, and emotional responses are not sane or logical. But they sure as hell are deadly when itchy trigger fingers are available.

If they are not a flight risk or deemed a hazard to the community then they are offered some sort of bail. You know innocent until proven guilty and all that.
The hazard to community part might be what he’s referring to. You know. Just team murdered an unarmed man over a mattress in the alley.

Based on around 200 bar/club gigs over the past five years, where I get to watch people in varying degrees of intoxication from the relative safety of the stage (relative, we have had a couple fights roll up on stage and one wrecked some gear)....the idea of arming everyone will certainly do the job of culling large numbers of the population. It will also make bars and clubs places that sane people will not go.

Beyond drinking establishments, huge numbers of people are rage-filled assholes with the patience of a gnat. I drive in heavy traffic most days, and invariably there's a rage monster constantly changing lanes, tailgating to presumably force the person in front to go faster (?)--despite the wall-to-wall traffic for a half-mile in front that he can plainly see. Typically it's a bmw, crappy low-rider or giant truck. I give them a cheery wave, which is probably risking my own life.

Arming everyone is a spectacularly bad idea, unless the goal is to reduce population.

Just watched the video, and I doubt we see them convicted of murder. Both sides were provoking each other, but the guy who was shot for sure was the aggressor. He was yelling "I'm going to kill you". Guy with the gun told him to not come closer or he would shoot. Guy yelled back "no you are not" and the guy with the gun said if you come within 3' of me I'm going to shoot you. So the guy called the bluff and went up to him again and was shot.

Dumb thing to get into an argument about. Guys with guns will be in hot water for provoking and bringing guns in the first place. Gun in the orange had his kids there, and all he could focus on was saying he was going to kill them. Sad for those kids.

After seeing the victim vs the gun-carrying murderers, I see why they had guns, little man syndrome.

I certainly hope at least the son with the shotgun gets life in prison. No matter how you read this there was no need for him to shoot after the guy was down.

From what I know, he too will likely get off. He will argue that he thought his dad (presumption) was in danger and he was defending him. I have seen entire clips unloaded and deemed lawful so his son jumping in will likely not be an issue.

We now have a dead father who was killed in front of his kids and wife over something so stupid that only an idiot would bring a gun to. But, don't hold out hope in this case.
