How has the sharp swing to the right worked for the formerly liberal party? Oh, that's right, they lose anyway. Stop pandering to bigots.

6-3 supreme court. Roe gone, likely to get senate majority.

Biden getting no credit for chips, ira, and plenty of blame for migrants.

I'd say they're happy beyond their wildest dreams!

Number 2 is an easy one that doesn't belong on the list. We have the electoral collage because the the U.S. is a republic of 50 states. The states elect the president according to the desire of the people within that state, though even that is subject to how the state decides to distribute those electoral votes.

Number 4 is one I don't really understand as we already have lumpy universal health care that half assed works. Seems like it's time to fix that.

I thought the war on LGBT folks ended in a draw? It doesn't seem like there is anymore territory to fight over.

I'm not sure what you mean by the migrants being sacrificed. The folks that came here by sneaking across the border committed a crime. Most of that was a failure of the Federal Government, and is a failure to this day. Importing a peasant class was never a good idea because sooner or later they get tired of being peasant's. I also wonder if there is any other nation that allows uncontrolled immigration without consequence?
The migrants he’s referring to are here legally.

The electoral college is stupid and only existed to preserve slavery. It should have been abolished a long time ago.

It's not even that there are no good reasons to keep it but that there are a lot of good reasons to get rid of it ASAP.

We saw how some people tired to hijack the process for the electoral loser culminating in an attempted coup.

I would say the electoral collage is an integral part of the republic and needs to be preserved at all costs. I don't want to turn the United States into Federal America. I like having 50 states, adds a bit of diversity to government.

Well if you want to explain why it’s good I’m all ears. I’ve asked over and over and no one has ever been able to identify a single good thing it does.

Generally speaking the ‘good’ things they mention are actually things the EC makes worse. For example people often say that it gives every state a say, when reality shows that is comically untrue.

How does eliminating the electoral college remove diversity in government?

Counterpoint: A popularly elected president means there is value in campaigning in states even where getting a majority of the votes would be unlikely. Presidential candidates would have to build true national collations to win the office.

While that’s a really weird thing to say it doesn’t change the fact that the electoral college is stupid.

You could attempt to actually rebut his arguments. Your post basically screams “I have no meaningful response”

This is exactly the point. The electoral college ensures the vast majority of the country is ignored in presidential elections. Eliminating it would give every state a voice.

@Greenman in this federation of states wouldn’t it be better if the president needed to appeal to all states instead of the half dozen or so swing ones?

Well, I would like to say that the electrical college helps make sure even the least populated states have equal say to match the left wing population masses of NY and CA.

But this is very clearly untrue so why would you say it?

It is true in that the if the opinion of a majority of states outweigh a majority opinion of voters (who tend to vote another way) then the majority of states win. Pretty simple if you ask me.

Verbal diarrhea is clearly his specialty.

In this case, he does have a point but he'd rather not be so direct about it. "Without the Electoral College, Republicans could never win a Presidential election again." For MAGAts like him, a tyranny of a minority is a feature, not a bug.

Why do Nazis say untrue shit?

I mean I find it amazing people are still asking these questions. Time to draw the line between the Nazis and the non-Nazis, read a fucking history book. Asking people who pathologically lie in order to justify supporting the worst in humanity, over and over again, why do they lie to do that. I mean fuckin' A, get a clue, label the Nazis what they are, and fucking prepare to defend all that is decent. Otherwise you are gonna be sitting there like so many other populations in history, asking these dumb questions, while the crazy nationalists and fascists destroy your country. THIS IS CERTAINLY NOT UNPRECEDENTED. These people are not special. The worst of humanity has happened countless times, so try not to do what so many other populations did in history, and STOP ASKING WHY.

Some people need to get a clue. This is not funny anymore and no time to keep playing dumb.

I'm confused. So diversity in government is a good thing now? I thought people on the right hated diversity - shouldn't we be going for merit of ideas and not affirmative action for conservative states?

So sounds like we should eliminate bail entirely according to you because people on bail commit more crimes.

When are you sending the check to pay for it?
To be honest, if there was no such thing as bail, that would be great. However, you do bring up the problem, the prison cost is going to skyrocket. Rikers Island is already to expensive, when are the feds going to take it over as the feds keep saying they will. With the number of correctional officers in the NYC NYPD resigning, Rikers could end up soon being a disaster waiting to happen. The last thing NYC needs is a "Attica Prison Riot" happening in NYC.
The ones who are saying to shut down or defund Rikers do not know a single thing they are saying. The migrant crisis on NYC's budget it really hitting a toll on the budget. The correction officers are leaving after Adam's did the budget cut.

I guess I have to stake out the controversial position that the police should try to locate people who have active warrants out for their arrest.

Its not even tough, they do stings regularly where they send out "you won a prize, show up at this address to claim" to a whole bunch of people with warrants, and then just arrest them when they show up.

So you’re ok with spending 400,000 a year to house a single inmate at rikers in deplorable conditions?

Yes, if no one gets out on bail, and the 400,000 goes for keeping them there, AND fixing the deplorable conditions, why not?

So your plan is that anyone who is arrested for any crime should be in jail until they have a trial?

No need to be confused. Many people on the right have varying (dare I say "diverse") views. I do understand the necessity of a vary broad category to simplify branding and knowing who to hate, but as things get a little more granular the system falls apart. Just keep an eye on the worst examples and pretend that's all of us and you'll be fine.

Yes. Better alternative than cashless bail, and rich people get a taste of what jail really is like. By the way, if bail did not exist let's say in Georgia, Trump would be behind bars already.
